CJ Studios “I am not here to work nine to five. I am here to capture a simcha so that my clients can relive those magical moments for years to come.”

It’s not about doing a job. It’s not about taking pictures or shooting video. It is about making your simcha live on forever, a responsibility that we take very, very seriously.

Is an end-of-year reel mandatory?
Because I have… questions.
If your wedding isn’t in it, does that mean it wasn’t good? (Absolutely not.)
Are we supposed to include everyone?
If we don’t… is that a thing??
My editor basically handed me this and said, “Here’s your end-of-year reel,” and I immediately realized how impossible this is. I don’t even see half the weddings I wish I could include. Forty-something seconds does NOT do a full year justice. Some weddings show up twice. Some incredible ones don’t show up at all.
So this isn’t really a “year in review.”
It’s more like a collage of a few beautiful moments from a year where every wedding was a good one.
Do we make another one that’s actually the full year?
Is that even something people want to see?
Or do we all just collectively agree end-of-year reels are chaotic and call it a day?
(Also… if you made it this far, congrats — you definitely read more than most people do on Instagram 😂
And if you’re not a photographer or in the wedding world, you’re probably like… why do I give two hoots anyway.)

Has this happened to you?
Waiters.
Stealing.
Food.
Mid-bite. 🍽️
They’re instructed to clean up and take every plate off the table as fast as possible.
The second they see an empty plate, it’s like lions pouncing on their prey. 🦁
How many times am I at a wedding, sit down to eat at night,
get up to grab a drink — and my plate is gone.
Or I’m literally mid-bite, fork in my hand,
and they’re already reaching to take it away.
Cleared.
Gone.
Thrown into the abyss. 😭

Be honest — is it just me or you too? 😅👇

The thing about high school friends…
Sometimes they’re annoying.
Sometimes they’re right.

She bothered me for YEARS that her brother’s friend was my future husband.
I once even saw him at an event filming and thought,
“Yeah… absolutely not.”

She kept pushing.
And pushing.
And pushing.

We got engaged in under a week.

So… maybe listen to your high school friends sometimes 😅

The forces of unholiness know this Chanukah will be off the charts, so they attacked where the light would first enter the world. Each of us will make this Chanukah brighter, bigger, and better than ever before.

It’s so weird that I’m editing galleries right now from end of August / early September… while we’re literally living in Chanukah… while we’re booking weddings for February + March (Purim vibes)… and I’m already getting calls for May + June.

Like… where do you live? 😂
My brain has 12 tabs open and they’re all in different seasons.

One second I’m staring at summer photos so detailed I can feel the sweat and the sticky heat again — take me back to the foreheads and the chaos and the golden light.
Next second I’m ordering gloves because I suddenly can’t feel my fingers.

It’s such a funny dichotomy:
In the summer we crave the cold.
In the cold we crave the summer.
And somehow… we’re both warm and cold at the same time.

And honestly, Chanukah feels like that too.
It’s dark outside, but we’re lighting more and more each night.
The days start getting longer again.
It’s the first tiny step back toward summer. 🕯️🧤☀️

This wedding? Pure joy. The couple brought so much energy and love, it felt like the whole room was buzzing. And here’s a little cool fact that no one ever guesses: the gorgeous stained-glass dome above them has a story of its own. It actually started out in the 1920s at the Brooklyn Jewish Center—yup, that same building that’s now Oholei Torah in Crown Heights. They moved it over to Temple Emanu-El in the 1980s, and now it’s part of this venue’s unique charm. So basically, you’re dancing under a piece of Brooklyn’s Jewish wedding history, just a little fun trivia for the day!
