As the first light of dawn crept over the horizon, La Jolla artist Russ Harris captures the high desert landscape was set aflame with a warm orange glow, illuminating the skeletal remains of juniper trees and the rugged, rocky outcroppings that dotted the terrain, their normally austere silhouettes softened by a light dusting of snow that clung to their branches like a fragile lace.
