After 5 years at WBIR, I’m on to a new adventure. I’m so grateful for all of the stories I got to tell. As a Texan turned Sooner, I never expected East Tennessee to become home sweet home to me. It did so I’ll be sticking around, just in a different spot. I’m heading up to the Smokies to work with the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau! Thank you for everything, WBIR ❤️

There ain't no smoggy smoke on Rocky Top, but there was some fog at Norris Dam State Park this morning.

Andrews Ridge Trail is a little less than 2 miles of easy hiking at the park's highest point.

I stumbled across Cumberland Jack by accident while I was working on another project a few months ago. His story led me all the way to the summit of Mount LeConte and back, and now, it's finally here! Enjoy!

I did a 10Explores hike to the cabin last summer when it was still under renovation. Looks like I need to go again! 😁

The park said it closed the two-story cabin in late 2021 while its Forever Places crew addressed safety concerns and completed renovations.

The hike to Abrams Falls is roughly 5 miles roundtrip and rated as moderately difficult in the Great Smoky Mountains Cades Cove area.

It's been a while since I went on a 10Explores adventure. I ventured to the recently reopened Porters Creek Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains! Here's what you need to know.

Porters Creek Trail is an easy to moderately difficult trek at roughly 4 miles roundtrip to Fern Branch Falls in the Great Smoky Mountains' Greenbrier area.

Several sheriffs in East Tennessee said they received hoax calls this morning about school shootings, threats and students injured. None of those calls were true, and the TBI and federal agents are now investigating to find out where these calls came from.

The Tennesee Bureau of Investigation said none of the reports have proven credible and there is no known immediate threat to public safety at this time.

It's wildflower season in the Great Smoky Mountains so I went on a journey to the Cove Hardwood Nature Trail! I felt like I walked into a little fairytale🌸

Beginning at the Chimneys Picnic Area, the trail is an easy loop that runs just under a mile with some of the best wildflower viewing in the national park.

Greenbrier Road will be open as far as the ranger station for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, according to a release from the park. Old Settlers Trail and Grapeyard Ridge Trail will also be open.

Hikers will be able to access Old Settlers and Grapeyard Ridge trails, but Porters Creek, Brushy Mountain, Ramsey Cascades trails are still closed.
