If you HAVE submitted anything for the show, I should be reaching out to you soon (ie: before end of year) for the following:

- More tracks. Doesn’t matter how old or new.

- Suggestions of other current or past local bands to hunt down for tracks.

- Top 2-4 tracks of yours that are your favorite or that you’d want to get more regular airplay.

- Short bio of the band, including and especially other/former bands your members have been in.

- Possible upcoming benefit show dates if you’re interested in playing. Very real probability that we’ll have an entirely Local Music Blender -based benefit show or two for the station next year.

- Opportunity to submit a station ID like “This is Jessie from That Local Band and you are listening to WOZO-LP 103.9 Knoxville.”

- Opportunity to submit a short station promo similar to the above but just saying something (preferably nice) about “Wozo Radio,” “Knoxville Community Radio,” and/or “The People’s Radio.”

- Opportunity to record a show promo like similar to the above but with “Local Music Blender.” Can include a thank you or shout out but there’s no script for it.

- Opportunity to record an in-show intro for your band before we play your tracks.

- Possibly an opportunity for you to select the tracks for the show yourself for an hour or two, and even record guest DJ intros/outros/interstitials for it.

- A big thank you for submitting tracks and sharing our posts.

- Possibly even a call for volunteers to place some posters around town calling for local music submissions, if I can ever come up with one that I’m happy with.

- Feedback on how to format and advertise the show to make it better.

Note for that last bit, Pan (the DJ doing this) lives in Murfreesboro, so any in-person interviews and live in-studio shows won’t happen unless and until we get another local DJ to take this on. And anyone can be a DJ here (and be way better at it than Pan is, by his own admission), so it’s not a completely impossible idea.

Oh, if you haven’t submitted anything yet, or want to submit more, just email [email protected] with MP3s or WAV files. We can edit them for FCC compliance (the words sh** and f*** being the most common problems), if absolutely need be.

Free because our budget is $0. All donations go to keeping the station running (Venmo us a couple bucks at WOZOfm if you like) and we allow zero commercials or sponsors. Low-power FM for the people!

Hey everyone!

If you're in Knoxville, please come out to Scruffy City Hall tonight (Thursday) to the fundraiser benefit for Knoxville Community Radio 103.9 FM, aka Wozo, aka The People's Radio.

But wherever you are, if you can't come out, PLEASE consider donating even a dollar or two to the station! Easiest way is to send a venmo to wozofm.

Yes, it's low-power FM and yes, because any DJ can play want they want or contribute whatever they want to rotation, and because anyone can become a DJ here, it's a giant mixed bag of genres and tastes.

But you'd be supporting programs like Local Music Blender, which seeks out any and all local bands (of any genre, from any year) to play their tracks on the radio.

Every single dollar goes towards keeping the our FCC-legal community low-power FM station running. Because NO ONE gets paid here, there is no underwriting, there are no sponsors, there are no commercials, and the station runs completely on volunteers. And we're in our 10TH YEAR of being on the airwaves as a result of the work that our volunteer DJs (including myself, remotely) have been doing.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization if that helps.

So come out if you can tonight (I can't since I'm in middle TN), but regardless, please consider taking a second to send even a dollar or two or five or ten to the station. Every little bit helps.

Fun fact: This weekend’s show is mostly played in the order in which they are listed on the graphic I made. However, I’m doing every other line all the way down, and then every other line all the way back up.

So hour one uses the odd lines beginning with Civil Strife and ending with The Hollow Party (accidentally swapped their place with The Home Boys).

And the second hour uses the even lines from bottom up beginning with We Lye Cold and ending with Mercy Lights.

And today’s show from 2-4 will be repeated Monday 6-8 PM. So you might know better when to catch whichever band you’re wanting to hear. :)
