Anyone else feel like the GOP has been extremely emboldened in a post-Trump world by saying the quiet part out loud? They hate women, minorities, LGBTQ and want to eradicate it all, for the advancement of straight white men, and they’re no longer hiding behind dog whistles.

Rep. Stan McClain's (R) admitted that his bill would limit girls from talking about their periods, although he clarified that was not the intent.

Remember when Trump rolled back banking regulations in 2018 by taking a lot of teeth out of the Dodd-Frank act of 2010 which was explicitly designed to prevent this sort of thing? Neither do the GOP. Or… they do what they always do. Hope their viewers and constituents are too stupid to know they’re lying to them.

The GOP was traditionally aligned with business, but an ascendant populist wing is more concerned with punishing businesses that espouse disfavored ideas.

Here on Apostates on the Fringe we have, in the past, recommended another podcast for legal breakdowns, “Opening Arguments” with Andrew Torrez and Thomas Smith. Hours before our record this last Thursday, it was revealed that Andrew had engaged in sexual harassment of several women, and even misconduct with his co-host, Thomas. At this time, we are unsure of the future of OA but we cannot support Andrew on any platform on which he is on. We will be discussing further on next weeks episode now that we’ve had time to digest.
