Good evening! The Kettering Sentinel just posted a story about two missing children that The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is looking for. One is a 16-year-old who went missing from Youngstown on December 17th and is believed to possibly be in our area. The other is a Kettering child that went missing in 1999 when she was only 9 years old. Please take a look at the article and if you have any information on either of these missing children, please reach out to the authorities. https://ketteringsentinel.town.news/g/kettering-oh/n/58771/center-missing-exploited-children-looking-missing-area-children

It is New Year's Eve, which means that Town & Country Shopping Center's new teen chaperone policy is set to go into effect tomorrow. As I mentioned earlier this week, The Kettering Sentinel has been working on a story about this issue. Although Town & Country has not yet responded to our multiple requests for comment on the issue, the Sentinel has discovered some interesting information on the issue. Here is a link to the article.

Good afternoon! Many Kettering residents were woken up this morning by the shrill sound of a tornado warning siren going off. Fortunately, today's siren was a mistake and there was no real emergency. Below is a link to an article that explains what the Kettering Police say happened this morning. The article also gives some details on how Kettering uses these emergency sirens, and what you should do when it is a real emergency. https://ketteringsentinel.town.news/g/kettering-oh/n/58056/kettering-mistakenly-activates-tornado-warning-siren-during-dispatcher

Yesterday there was a post in the Everything Kettering Facebook group about an individual soliciting at Van Buren Apartments. Some residents were concerned, and this got the Sentinel wondering what the law is in Kettering regarding door-to-door soliciting. Here is a link to the article we have posted on the issues, which includes information on how you can handle unwanted solicitors. https://ketteringsentinel.town.news/g/kettering-oh/n/57923/door-door-solicitation-allowed-kettering

Kettering residents have also been expressing concerns regarding Town & Country Shopping Center's new policy taking in effect in January that will require all teens under 18 to be accompanied by an Adult Chaperone. The Kettering Sentinel is working on a story about this issue. So check back soon to find out what we have learned about this hot button Kettering topic. Last night I had the pleasure of covering the Kettering Ohio City Council meeting. Although not always covered in-depth by many media outlets, what local governments do can be far more important to the everyday lives of residents than are the activities of the Federal Government. The Kettering Sentinel covers local government so that you will know what is going on in your community. Here is the article we just published on last night's Kettering City Council meeting, https://ketteringsentinel.town.news/g/kettering-oh/n/49899/kettering-city-council-approved-2-ordinances-and-7-resolutions-its-november
