Bournemouth are ready to offload Kieffer Moore in the January transfer window[/caption]

The forward has only started one game – which came in the League Cup – this term with Dominic Solanke the undisputed first-choice centre-forward at the Vitality.

It is now expected Moore will leave Bournemouth in January, though his wages of around £40,000 a week mean a loan to the second-tier is more likely.

Cardiff – who sold Moore to Bournemouth in 2022 – are believed to be pushing hardest for his signature.

While there is tentative interest from Middlesbrough, whose priority position to strengthen is at the back.

The likes of Leeds, Ipswich, West Brom, Birmingham and Sunderland are all keen on bringing a new forward in the winter window so will likely be aware of Moore’s situation.

Though Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys – another of Moore’s former sides – are pursuing Jay Stansfield, whose loan to St Andrew’s could be cut short this month.

Moore, who has 39 caps and 12 caps for Wales, has played up the divisions all the way from non-league for the likes of Forest Green, Barnsley, Wigan and Torquay.

Since arriving on the south coast he has managed to find the net nine times in his 43 appearances.

Should Moore depart, Bournemouth could dip into the market to replace him.

COLE PALMER has been brutally warned about his defensive contribution following his performance against Luton.

The Chelsea star impressed against the Hatters as he netted a brace in the 3-2 win at Kenilworth Road.

Cole Palmer netted a brace against Luton Town[/caption]

Garth Crooks has urged him not to forget about the defensive side of the game[/caption]

Palmer, 21, has been a bright spark for the Blues this season which has seen them struggle to get into the top half of the Premier League.

The attacking midfielder has scored eight goals and bagged four assists in his 16 league appearances.

However, at the end of the match against Luton, Palmer’s team-mate Thiago Silva appeared to be annoyed that they almost threw away the win.

Former Tottenham and Manchester United ace Garth Crooks has suggested that if Palmer does not start helping at the back then his team-mates could turn on him.

He wrote in his BBC column: “Chelsea recovered from a poor performance against Wolves with a win over Crystal Palace and then went to Kenilworth Road a few days later to beat a stubborn Luton Town side.

“That said, Chelsea made very hard work of this victory having been 3-0 up against the Hatters before conceding two goals late in the game with some amateur defending.

“The disapproving shaking of the head by Thiago Silva at the end of the match said it all.

“The only bright spark for the visitors was Palmer, whose two goals were taken quite brilliantly.

“But the English midfielder needs to watch himself.

“Ducking out of headers on defensive set plays doesn’t endear yourself to your team-mates, neither does suddenly losing touch with the game having scored two goals when really he should have been searching for his hat-trick.”

Palmer’s performances this season have even seen him receive an England call-up from Gareth Southgate.

The former Manchester City prospect made his debut for the Three Lions in the 2-0 win over Malta.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has also backed Palmer for his performances and compared him to World Cup winner Angel Di Maria.

He told TNT Sports: “In the position that he [Palmer] plays, and because he’s a left-footer and because he has some similarities and the quality, he’s a potential Angel Di Maria.

“Angel is a world champion [with Argentina], he was in Paris with us, and is an amazing player.

“He [Palmer] has the capacity and the potential to be close to him, with time. He’s still far away, but this type of player that can link, can be a playmaker, have the capacity to score, assist, it’s this type of player like Angel.

“Always you expect when you sign a player, you expect that they perform in the best way. But of course, he’s performing really well from Day one, he’s adapted very well to the club, to the teammates, to Chelsea life, and yes it’s amazing, because always you expect the player can perform well, but he’s doing excellent.”

TRANSFER NEWS LIVE: All the latest transfer deals from around the world this January

But the frustrated centre back is nearing fitness – meaning there is still a chance a deal could be struck for him to get a fresh start away from Stamford Bridge.

The team has started winning games despite injuries in the back line with full backs Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella all crocked.

Chalobah suffered a setback to his hamstring problem in October and is being cautious about pushing himself too hard to come back.

But, with the transfer window open, now there is hope he will be fit in time in order to get a move away – most likely a loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

Chalobah has been linked with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham previously.

The development comes as Chelsea reportedly weigh up a move for Benfica central defender Antonio Silva.

Manchester United have also been linked with the seven-cap Portugal star, 20.

Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile have struggled to justify their recent moves to Stamford Bridge.

It’s claimed the Blues have held talks with Benfica over an initial £52million deal – including Armando Broja – for the younger Silva.

But the Portuguese giants are said to want his full £87million release clause.

Ronaldo is set to receive the multi-million property in 2024[/caption]

Another mansion on the island measures 30,000 square feet with a private beach and swimming pool[/caption]

It comes after Ronaldo was rewarded for his fine goalscoring form in Saudi Arabia with a place in the FifPro World XI nominations.

Ronaldo’s property portfolio already includes a number of lavish homes around Europe.

He began construction on a new £7million mansion in Portugal in 2021 to add to his luxury Madeira villa.

His portfolio also features properties in Manchester, Turin, Marbella and Madrid.

According to Bloomberg, the 38-year-old has bought a multi-million property on the secluded enclave.

The report adds that Ronaldo is set to see the mega-mansion completed at some point in 2024.

It is rumoured to be priced in the region of tens of millions of pounds.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner and his family will stay at the mansion during their trips to Dubai.

He and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez have two children together and live with Ronaldo’s three other children.

His eldest son Cristiano Jr. was born in 2010, before he fathered twins via surrogacy in 2017.

A separate mansion on the island measures 30,000 square metres and has six bedrooms, a private beach and a showroom for seven cars.

The property also boasts a swimming pool with a view of Dubai and accommodation for employees.

Jumeirah Bay Island is better known as “Billionaire’s Island” and is the home of the super rich in Dubai.

Its moniker comes from the sheer number of billionaires on the island per square km, more than any other location in the United Arab Emirates.

The gated community includes fine-dining restaurants, a yacht club and a beach resort directly facing the ocean.

Opened in 2017, there are 10 mega-mansions on the island, which were expected to be sold for £430million in total once completed.

Property prices on the man-made island have skyrocketed since the pandemic, according to the Khaleej Times.

Just last April, a 24,500 square foot plot of sand was sold for a record £27million, surpassing the previous biggest sale of £19.5million.

DAVID DE GEA still remains without a club after he left Manchester United in the summer.

The Spanish shot-stopper spent 12 years between the sticks for the Red Devils, but now he’s turned his attention to a new sport.

David de Gea has turned to a new sport since leaving Manchester United[/caption]

According to The Athletic, De Gea has been spending much of his time since leaving Old Trafford playing padel.

Padel is a Mexican game similar to both tennis and squash and is played on a small court that has fencing all around it that the ball can be played off.

The ex-Spain number one, 33, isn’t the only footballer that has turned their attention to the growing sport either.

Former Newcastle and PSG star Hatem Ben Arfa, 36, is also a big padel player and has even earned himself a national ranking for the sport in France.

Alongside his padel playing De Gea is reportedly maintaining his fitness should the right opportunity to return to the pitch pop up.

However that offer is yet to come despite rumours of a move to Newcastle United and offers from teams across Europe’s top leagues.

In fact it is said that De Gea is enjoying his time away from the spotlight and has even considered retirement since leaving United.

He has been able to spend more time with his family and friends as well as putting focus on his esports team – which he co-owns with former teammate Bruno Fernandes.

De Gea’s next steps aren’t known yet, but he will have to make a decision on his future soon.

With the January transfer window now open there is a higher likelihood that movement amongst clubs could open up the door for a new opportunity.

However with reports suggesting he is yet to be enticed by any offer that has come his way, retirement could be a real option.

Savage only joined Reading at the start of the term but league rivals Derby are doing everything they can to chase down a spot in the Championship next season.

Derby are looking to sign Reading’s Charlie Savage[/caption]

Charlie is the son of Premier League cult hero and TNT Sports pundit Robbie Savage

From a rich footballing background, Charlie Savage has made an impressive start since his move from Manchester United.

The 20-year-old midfielder signed a permanent contract for the Royals during the summer and has scored four goals in 25 appearances.

However, the youngster’s stint at Reading could be cut short soon, as Derby wants him to follow in his dad’s footsteps and sign for them, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite Reading being in financial turmoil it is understood the Berkshire club has already snubbed Paul Warne’s side’s offer.

The ex-Rotherham United boss is desperate to add reinforcements to his Derby squad for a chance of promotion to the Championship at the end of term.

While Derby are in a fourth-place play-off spot with 46 points – Warne is targeting automatic promotion which will mean hunting down second-place Bolton and frontrunners Portsmouth.

Savage came through the youth ranks at Man Utd only to make a single senior appearance in December 2021, replacing Juan Mata in the 89th minute against Young Boys.

Like his father Robbie, Charlie is a Wales international and made his senior debut against Gibraltar in 2022.

Robbie had a glittering career and spent four terms at Pride Park from 2008-2011 making 137 appearances for the Rams.

Before his move to the East Midlands, he spent two decades in the Premier League playing for Leicester City, Birmingham and Blackburn.

Savage is now a TNT Sports pundit and director of football at Northern Premier League Premier Division club Macclesfield.

ERIC DIER has agreed a stunning switch to Bayern Munich, it’s been claimed.

The England defender and midfielder has fallen further down the Tottenham pecking order since Ange Postecoglou‘s appointment as manager.

Eric Dier has fallen further down to the Tottenham pecking order since Ange Postecoglous appointment as manager[/caption]

Dier, 29, began assessing his options once it became clear he wasn’t part of the Aussie’s plans.

And the versatile star has reportedly struck a deal to join German giants Bayern.

The Times claim the England international has “reached an agreement in principle” with the Bavarians after initial talks.

Dier is free to speak to the Bundesliga big boys as his contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season.

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel has identified the versatile Dier as a target to bolster his defence, with the former Sporting Lisbon ace being one of four potential options.

And Bayern are said to believe they have the “green light” to press on with a move for the out-of-favour Spurs star.

It’s not known whether or not Spurs will be willing to part ways with Dier – despite him seemingly being surplus to requirements.

Postecoglou, however, has previously hinted that his future lies away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A move to Bayern Munich will see Eric Dier reunited with Harry Kane[/caption]

That hint came in the form of a refusal to confirm whether or not he was part of his plans last October.

The former Celtic chief said: “I haven’t had any chats with Eric. He’s training and he’s making himself available.

“With all these guys, if they feel the need to discuss their future I’m more than happy to do that.

“But I’m not going to go out and seek it unless I see there’s an issue.”

Should Spurs agree to sell Dier to Bayern, the move will see the ace reunited with former long-time club team-mate Harry Kane.

Kane swapped North London for Munich last August in a blockbuster move worth £82million.

England skipper Kane has been prolific since joining the German champions.

The 30-year-old has scored a whopping 25 goals in 22 appearances for Tuchel’s troops, breaking the Bundesliga record for the fewest games to find the back of the net 20 times in the process.

Tottenham are set to sign Diers replacement Genoa’s Radu Dragusin this week[/caption]

Spurs outcast Dier has started just one match in all competitions this season – a 2-1 defeat against Wolves in November.

Despite centre-back Mickey van de Ven out injured with a hamstring issue, 29-year-old Dier has still struggled for game time.

Postecoglou has chosen to rely on full-backs Emerson Royal and Ben Davies in a central role with the English defender still out of the picture.

According to ESPN, Dier has been told he can find a new club this month as his Tottenham contract is set to expire this summer.

And David Moyes‘ Hammers are among the clubs monitoring the defender alongside his old side Sporting Lisbon.

West Ham are keen to sign another defender as Angelo Ogbonna, who turns 36 in May, is edging the end of his career with his contract set to expire in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed Spurs’ upcoming deal with 21-year-old Dragusin to happen this week, meaning the England international could be shown the exit door sooner than expected.

The transfer guru tweeted: “Radu Dragusin has accepted all details of Tottenham contract proposal as personal terms have been agreed, as revealed last week.

“Despite public statements on new deal, he’s now waiting for Spurs. Spurs and Genoa remain in talks to get the deal done very soon.”

Dier arrived at Spurs in 2014 on a £4million transfer after spending his youth and early senior career at Sporting.

Since he arrived in North London he has made over 365 appearances for the club.

If Dier has hopes of reaching Gareth Southgate‘s Euro 2024 squad for Germany this summer he will need to pick up more playing time.

The England star has 49 caps for the Three Lions featuring in the Euro 2016 squad and 2018 and 2022 World Cup team.

BEN GODFREY’S £15million move to Atalanta has broken down after Serie A lost their version of the ‘Beckham Law’.

The Everton defender, 25, looked to be heading to Italy this month after falling out of favour with Goodison Park chief Sean Dyche.

Ben Godfrey’s move to Atalanta has fallen through

The deal has collapsed after Serie A scrapped their version of the ‘Beckham Law’

Godfrey was Gian Piero Gasperini’s top target following a glowing reference from ex-Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti.

But talks over the fee and personal terms have ended following the announcement that the law, officially known as Crescita Decree, has been abolished.

The law allowed high income earners from foreign countries a 50 per cent tax bill discount.

Previously, it has been a big attraction for overseas players to join and increase the competitiveness in Serie A.

The Crescita Decree is remarkably similar to the ‘Beckham Law’ in Spain, which allowed high-income foreign earners to pay just 24 per cent income tax for their first six years in the country.

Beckham took advantage of it following his move from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2003.

But the Italian equivalent will no longer stand after discussions in the Italian Council of Ministers have led to the rule being binned, making Godfrey’s potential move too expensive for Atalanta.

Now Godfrey, who has played three times for Everton this season, is back on the market with 18 months left on the deal he signed after joining in a £25million move from Norwich in 2020.

Having joined the club from Portchester ahead of the 2023-24 season, he reportedly agreed a £75 goalscoring bonus.

That means Pitman would have picked up an extra £575 on top of his additional wage after Saturday’s match.

The striker was unsurprisingly named Player of the Match at full time.

He even posed for a picture with champagne and a can of 7Up to celebrate.

The Shaftesbury social media admin later joked that the club had become “skint” as a result of Pitman’s goalscoring form.

In response to a fan, a tweet from the club’s official account read: “Beans on toast for us tonight. Skint now.”

Pitman is now the league’s top goalscorer.

The striker kicked off his professional playing career with Bournemouth in 2005 before joining Bristol City five years later.

Birmingham City axed Rooney, 38, after just 15 games

ROY HODGSON has backed Wayne Rooney and the rest of the Golden Generation to become top class managers – despite their early failures.

Birmingham City axed Rooney, 38, after just 15 games and 83 days in charge on Tuesday, with the ex-England and Manchester United skipper claiming he was not given “sufficient” time.

Roy Hodgson managed Rooney at England[/caption]

Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard have also struggled in management so far[/caption]

He joins the likes of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard who have had bumpy starts to their managerial careers, despite their glittering playing days for club and country.

Hodgson, 76 – who managed all three of them during his four-year stint as Three Lions chief from 2012 to 2016 – agrees that Rooney deserved more time in the Birmingham dug-out.

Ahead of an FA Cup third round clash with Everton, Crystal Palace boss Hodgson said of Rooney’s demise: “He has an outstanding football brain. I always thought he was very thoughtful and very astute tactically.

“He was a magnificent footballer. He is an icon of English football. One always hopes an icon gets a chance to step up [as a manager] to show what he can do.

“I can only agree with him. The amount of time he got to really show his ability and qualities was a short one. I am sad it happened. I know he will bounce back.

“I heard he will take a break, that’s an intelligent thing to do. There is no doubt Wayne will always be on people’s lips and on people’s minds for future jobs.”

Rooney’s sacking – taking Birmingham from sixth to 20th in just under three months with nine losses in 15 games – has sparked a debate over the Golden Generation’s coaching abilities.

Following a promising start at the helm of Derby County, Stamford Bridge legend Lampard, 45, is currently unemployed having been shown the door by Everton and Chelsea – returning to the latter briefly last season in an interim capacity.

FREE BETS – BEST BETTING OFFERS & NEW CUSTOMER BONUSES

Former Liverpool captain Gerrard enjoyed success with Rangers – lifting the Scottish title in 2021 – but was later sacked by Aston Villa and is now struggling at Saudi side Al-Ettifaq.

Rooney’s average win percentage across his three jobs so far with Derby, D.C. United and Birmingham City is 22.6 per cent.

But Hodgson – whose own career has spanned almost 48 years and 23 permanent positions, such as with Fulham, Liverpool and Inter Milan – has argued: “The way the climate is these days, the judgement comes very quickly and is quite severe.

“They will be welcomed into the club because of their name. They will be expected to suddenly make the club fly because of their appointment. That’s an unrealistic demand.

“All of them have got to say: I didn’t really get a good chance. No one gave me two or three years. I didn’t get three or four transfer windows. I didn’t get a chance to really decide.

“I wouldn’t want to cast aside any of those three in terms of their ability to be good managers. I might even say that these experiences will help them along the way.

“Somewhere along the way you are going to suffer some real blows in this game as a manager more than a player. They have suffered their blows early.

“If they survive them, they will come out even stronger. I believe, and this goes for those three and others in that group, have the qualities both as coaches, managers and leaders to succeed.”
