A MOM who allegedly murdered two of her children had been told to hand over custody just days before their bodies were found.
Kimberlee Singler, 35, is accused of killing her son, 7, daughter, 9, and seriously injuring her third child, 11, on December 19.

The children were found after their mom called police, claiming there had been a burglary at their home in northeast Colorado Springs.
Singler and her eldest daughter, who were both badly injured, were rushed to the hospital, but it wasn’t until December 26 that police issued a warrant for Singler’s arrest.
The Colorado Springs Police Department (CPSD), however, were unable to track the mother down, after she was discharged from the hospital and last seen on December 23.
Singler called 911 reporting a burglary on December 19, 2023 at around 12:29 am.
Officers arrived at Singler’s home, where they found the mother and her 11-year-old daughter wounded, according to police.
Singler’s other two children, a 9-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy, were found dead inside.
During the investigation of the homicide, police determined that the initial report of a burglary was false and a warrant was issued for Singler’s arrest on December 26.
Singler had been in the middle of a nearly four year long legal battle for custody of their children with ex-husband, Kevin Wentz.
The couple initially filed for divorce in 2018, which was not granted until 2020, according to KRDO Radio, a local station.
Singler was fighting for full custody and reportedly wanted to take the children out of state, to either Oregon or Florida.
A Larimer County Judge had approved a custody plan for Wentz to visit his children at certain dates and times, but not retain full custody.
However, Wentz and Singler frequently clashed during visitations.
On September 18, 2023, Wentz arrived at Singler’s apartment to pick up their kids per their child custody agreement.
However, the authorities were called to intervene during this visit as Singler claimed her ex-husband had pulled a knife on her and called her insulting names.
When police arrived and spoke with Wentz, he denied pulling a knife on his ex-wife so authorities had no cause to arrest him.
A couple months later on December 16, 2023, Singler was ordered to drop off her children to Wentz.
She had been ordered to bring her kids to a CSPD station but reportedly never showed up.
The following day, Wentz and his attorney asked a Larimer County Judge to insist that law enforcement help him gain immediate possession of his children since Singler was in violation of their custody agreement.
Colorado Springs Police Sergeant Zahrobsky called Singler on December 16th, during which the mother informed him that she was “nowhere near the police station.”
Singler informed Wentz via email that she was in Breckenridge, Colorado, with all three of her children.
Wentz’s attorney claimed that this was a “willful” violation of the couple’s child custody agreement and told Singler to turn over the children to their father.
The judge ruled that Wentz would have full-time custody of the children until the couple’s next custody hearing on January 18, 2024.
Colorado Springs Police would not disclose to KRDO whether they attempted to locate Singler or her children between the date of the judge’s order and when they were called to investigate the murders at her apartment due to it being an “ongoing investigation.”
A $10 million bond was set by the court, but the details of Singler’s arrest warrant are currently sealed.
There was no update for current health status of the eldest daughter and no information has been provided by authorities regarding another parent or legal guardian for the child.
An attorney representing Kevin Wentz said he and his family will “comment on the investigation at a later date.”
“Mr. Wentz and his family are currently in a tremendous amount of grief and shock,” attorney Jennifer Darby said.
In a statement regarding the situation between the children’s parents, she added: “There was a domestic relations case going in Larimer County.
“As part of that custody case, the court ordered Kimberlee to bring the kids to their father on December 16.
“She did not show up, so on December 18, Rex Harris filed an emergency motion with the court.
“The court ordered that she bring the children to Larimer County Court on December 20, and the kids were killed on the 19.”
Police have asked that anyone with information on the incident, or Singler’s whereabouts, call the Colorado Springs Police Department.

A warrant has been issued for Singlers arrest and her bond has been set for $10million but the fugitive’s whereabouts are currently unknown[/caption]
