TRIM.TONE.TREATMENT 👩🏻‍🔧

It’s hard to let go of length, but when there’s an area that is much more finer than the rest of the hair then it’s probably best to create fullness to trim those ends.

Afterwards a treatment will help speed up the repairing process! It’s important to talk to your stylist to see which treatment works best for you. In this case k18 was the perfect match for her to start her repairing + strengthening journey

The thing most people sleep on….

Texture spray! Now we can say it’s our favorite product and it may seem irrelevant 😆 BUT the style just becomes so much better with TEXTURE SPRAY!

Not many know how to use it, but we are here to tell you it’s super simple. Check below to know how!

•curl/style your hair as normal
•grab a wide tooth or your fingers to comb through your hair

Now here’s the fun 🤩

Totally optional, but-turn your head down and grab your texture spray (our favorite is .murphy bedroom hair) and spray away!

You don’t have to bend down. You can totally just spray all around your hair and in specific areas that you want those curls to pop a little more.

Then there you have it! You’ll have effortless, soft, and body added to your hair 😁

UNPOPULAR OPINION: V cuts are NOT a one size fits all 🫣🫢 (long opinion comin in hot)

So hear us out. We get it…the shape of the V cut is nice from the back and when it’s styled it looks so good, oh and let’s not forget the IMPORTANT part…it keeps your length! What a great cut choice right? In reality sadly it doesn’t work that way 🫤 this type of cut just doesn’t work for all hair DENSITIES

If you have thick hair (a lot of it) you are more able to get away with it better than those who have finer, thinner hair. If you have long hair, but it’s fine and thin, but yet you are left with “my hair just isn’t full enough” thought-more than likely this cut will NOT give you that fullness.

We’ve seen many people come with this cut and have fine/thin hair densities and it never fails that they are searching for fullness. The V cut creates many many layers (which isn’t bad) but it’s not what fine hair needs. Layers are still great for movement and texture, but you can’t overdo it cause then you’ll actually feel like you have less hair with that many layers.

Also the tip (longest part of the haircut) eventually will feel like you definitely don’t have much going on or it may get shorter due to potential split ends/breakage over time and if that’s not taken care of then those old ends will break creating a more jagged cut….and that’s for all parts of your hair not just that tip.

With that being said please consult with your stylist next time you’re in a salon and see what your stylist recommends for YOUR hair. The inspos are nice, but remember not one size fits all 🙃

Here’s what option you may not know you could do in a salon!

Accent foils! They are seriously the best route if you’re wanting some sort of color pop in your hair, and it doesn’t even have to be a vivid color either!

Adding pieces of color around the hair or even a small color shift in the front of the face will give you JUST ENOUGH to let you get a feel of brightness or depth without overly spending just to add color.

Ask your stylist about doing an accent foil service next time you’re in and see what it can do for you!

D I Y color corrections at home…

Just kidding she wasn’t trying to fix a color correction at home-rather actually gave herself a color correction….in the salon

In this scenario our friend here just simply ran out of color cause she just had SO MUCH HAIR. She has somewhat enough in the front, but as she got to the back you can see the splotches of dark and light pieces as well as the back significantly lighter than her color that she originally was going for.

Coloring your hair at home seems like a good, easy, and affordable way we totally understand! But let’s avoid these types of hair scares, and visit your salon! It’ll save the heartaches and stress….and the money in your pocket 😉

Show of hands of who can just walk in the salon and just go from long hair to the total opposite 😂

As we mentioned before in our last post about heat damage-she lives in New Mexico and it’s prettyyyyyyyy hot just minus the humidity 😆 anywhoo she doesn’t do much to her hair, but asked why there would be any damage if she is a total minimalist when it comes to her hair. Well that sun is no joke. The sun still plays a valid part of heat damage EVEN WITHOUT A HOT TOOL TO YOUR HAIR.

Just as if you were to put SPF on your face to prevent sun damage on your skin please be mindful to protect your hair as well with a great heat protectant!

Our favorite is .murphy blow dry line that has already a built in heat protection shampoo + conditioner or the sprays and can protect up to 450 degrees 😎✌🏼

If you’ve ever had lashes or currently wear them now-you would know the immediate change and self esteem boost it gives you!

Lashes not only give you a boost, but it’s a life saver for those that wake up really early in the mornings and just don’t have that time to put your makeup on! Save yourself an extra 10-15 minutes in the morning of getting ready and use that towards some extra snooze 💤 or maybe time to make/get breakfast!
