"For Once in My Life," a timeless ballad penned by Ron Miller and Orlando Murden for Motown Records, first saw the light of day in 1965.
Originally conceived as a slow, soulful tune, Connie Haines was the first to record it. However, it was Jean DuShon's 1966 rendition that marked its official release. A number of legendary artists, including Nancy Wilson, the Four Tops, the Temptations, Diana Ross & the Supremes, and Tony Bennett, also recorded their own interpretations. It was Tony Bennett's version that first made a splash on the pop charts, solidifying the song's enduring appeal.
