"I Can't Get Next to You" is a legendary Temptations song, a masterpiece of Motown soul crafted by the songwriting duo of Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong. This electrifying track stormed the charts in 1969, reigning supreme at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks. It dethroned "Sugar, Sugar" by the Archies and later yielded to Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds."

But that's not all! "I Can't Get Next to You" also dominated the R&B charts for an impressive five weeks, knocking out "Oh, What a Night" by the Dells and eventually being replaced by another Motown hit, "Baby I'm For Real" by the Originals.
