The Joplin Toad The Joplin Toad is a toad and it is from Joplin. It likes Joplin and arts and peoples that makes the arts in the Joplin.

But not frogs, hates frogs, get the frogs away from us We exist to celebrate and encourage local artists. Thanks to tremendous local support and a passionate team of volunteers, it is growing all the time. It’s all for the creative people of a little city in the center of the United States, Joplin.

ALRIGHT, so our Creative Challenge theme was a little specific. I mean, we still think it was funny, but yeah, ok, maybe Tim Allen could stand to share.

Good news for all: We’re expanding our theme AND the submission period.

Newly expanded theme: creative work submitted can be inspired by *ANY* Christmas movie.
Newly extended deadline: new deadline is Dec 31 at midnight!

We’re also adding a stunning new goodies bag to the existing $20 gift card, for the winner (more on that later).

Things are heating up for tonight’s Toad Christmas party!!

SOME REMINDERS::

-Royale Cinema Lounge does charge a $5 cover fee; their model is $5 for a day pass, rather than charging per-movie or event. If you come and you can’t swing $5, we’ll cover ya. :)

-we will not have a full meal but we WIlL provide cookies- you can bring some too, but you don’t have to. :) RCL also sells some light dinner fare & snacks for cheaps.

-there will door prizes/toad goodies to everyone who stops by!

-our party will be 6:30 to 8- then we’ll be hosting a movie at 8. It rhymes with “the Fanta paws”. There’s also a comedy event happening on the other side if that’s more up your alley!

-this event is super casual. All are invited, no RSVP necessary, come and go as you like.

We’ll also be making some announcements about new projects for the coming year, so if you come, you’ll be the first in the loop!!

The Toad had some out of state visitors today!! It was a delightful visit with and .flynnok from SE Oklahoma, who are doing mighty cool things for their own community.

The theme is… “The Santa Clause!”

Yes. THAT one. The Tim Allen movie (honestly you’ve got like 4 in the series to choose from).

You could knit an ugly sweater in honor of Neil! paint a portrait of Tim Allen as SC! Write a sonnet about Bernard the head elf!

For those who hate Tim Allen and/or cheesy 90s Christmas movies… maybe this inspires something with a darker note for you. Maybe your art comes from protest. We’ll take that too.
