Attending the recent Google Cloud Next 2024 Conference sets in motion so many opportunities for small and medium businesses
to embrace AI, VR, Metaverse, Web 3,4,5 and other technologies. Conferences like this show that Blacks, Hispanics and other Cultures of Color need to be prepared and ready for what is coming Next.
Find out the "Agents" that are coming and how major industries that will influence your financial futures are coming into place.
Google Cloud Next where over 30,000 people attended from all over the world. The 3-day event was breath-taking and created some anxiety because unless you're in technology some way you really do not see the potential. I was blessed with tickets to join in what was shown the future of AI and the use of Google Tools.
I cannot emphasis enough that our future lives and current lives are and will be affected more than people can see. "Gemini" formally Bard is a Beast (if I can borrow that term from the young people).
I don't care what anybody says that deflects from AI, our children need to learn how to use Generative AI and use it to build content,
encourage reading, inspire creativity and demand a change in thinking.
Angie Nixon posted on FB that our children need to be better readers. I will say this, our children need to be better at comprehension, writing, expression with writing, being creative, being innovative with technology not just playing games, but really being content creators and developing critical thinking skills.
In my 33 years teaching these are the same things I have been teaching, speaking, demonstrating and advising. Other educators have stated the same, and it seems forces are preventing this from becoming a reality. If our children are not minimally engaged and educated with technology and not just used for testing and assessments, they will be under-employed, un-employable, ignored, discounted and forgotten because AI does have, continue to have bias built in because no one like us is doing the programming.
There are so many opportunities for our children to be successful if we all modify our visions not just to sports and entertainment, but to a combination of skill-sets that allow our children to be creative and competitive.
Sit down with your children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other youth, teens and young adults to listen to the future being created. Have conversations about career choices and don't rely just on what schools are showing, investigate for yourself.
Our students need to be planning for their life at their junior year if not sooner. We are at a point where we cannot wait and procrastinate any longer. The results can influence the success or set-backs that may potentially come against our children and future generations.
Sit with your family and watch, listen and have discussions.
