What are your thoughts on the Automated Ball Strike challenge system?

MLB is going to test the Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) challenge system during Spring Training games. This was system was used in MiLB last year where calls challenged by players were overturned 51% of the time, per MLB.

What are your thoughts on the ABS Challenge System?

A flood watch has been issued for portions of northern Kentucky and southern Ohio due to the expected rainfall during the upcoming weekend. The heaviest rainfall across the local area will be Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

The greatest concern for significant flooding is across central/eastern Kentucky and into West Virginia. US National Weather Service Louisville Kentucky, US National Weather Service Jackson Kentucky, and US National Weather Service Charleston WV.

Local NFL history

Today may be about a storied clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles in this year's Super Bowl. But we want to share a story about Portsmouth's own NFL team, the Portsmouth Spartans! 🏈

From 1930 to 1933, the Portsmouth Spartans were part of some of the most iconic moments in early NFL history – from the infamous Iron Man Game to the first indoor game and the creation of the hash mark. 🏆

And believe it or not, the Spartans were technically represented in this year's NFL Playoffs, just under a different name. You may recognize them today as the Detroit Lions 🦁.

“The team [Portsmouth Spartans] went on to become the Detroit Lions in 1934, but their legacy lives on in Portsmouth,” said WOUB Producer/Director Chris Flanery.
