A large pile of Buffalo dung made the Thamba male pause on one of his territorial patorls. Leopards will often roll in, and even eat the dung. This allows the leopard to obtain minerals it may be lacking, aswell as to put usefeul bacteria back into their systems. Rolling in dung is said to help mask the actual scent of the leopard, which may aid them during hunting, but it is probably more of a territorial behaviour, leaving and covering his own scent over the dung pile itself.
