Stomping Grounds is a free monthly open stage event for young creatives to develop performance, curation, and exhibition skills while connecting to the Chicago creative community. The event is hosted by Stomping Grounds LAI in collaboration with Kuumba Lynx and Elephant Rebellion. Sign up to perform is on a first come first serve basis - so come on time!

ARTIST BIO:
Manasseh, a native of Chicago’s south side, has always possessed the gift of music which started with his mother, who herself was a vocalist. Singing in the church choir from childhood into his young-adulthood, would also serve as a part of the foreground for his musical approach.

Join us in Uptown tomorrow, Saturday, September 25th from 12-6pm for our last Poetic Platforms of the season!

Play. Create. Amplify. Poetic Platforms foster cross-cultural connection and collective healing with pop-ups in underutilized spaces and parks. encourages participants to become “everyday designers”, co-creators of more inclusive and equitable public spaces by exploring community-led culture-making through the arts, culture performance, interactive installations, and wellness.

Our day starts at 12 noon as will facilitate "Yogiposa", a play on the words yoga and mariposa (butterfly). Son Monarcas' multi-instrumentalists Irekani Ferreyra and Mercedes Inez create a magical soundscape of ambient beats, healing frequencies and rich harmonies. Park-goers and participants are encouraged to bring the mats, move and participate in revitalizing yoga poses within this musical experience. Please arrive by 11:45 to be set to start promptly at noon. Individuals will be allowed to join in the experience at any time.

At 1pm, will transform us with vibrant sounds and social conscious music. Don't miss!

At 1:30 pm, we are honored that Chicago-based will join us. Experience The Happiness Club, a group of Chicago kids who sing, dance, rap and create original material to encourage positive values and social change through the arts.

At 2:15pm, will bring us a special performance and teach dance techniques to the community.

And stay for our Partner, and jam with and the from 3 pm - 6pm!

Kombi Chicago and the People's StageKaraoke connects communities together and to our unique and shared history through music and the arts.
