America is now planning to mix politics with client stylist relationships (clearly some entity got a government contract). The salon is a safe space for domestic violence victims. There is a new push to force stylists to recognize abuse signs (as if we don't already know which clients are abused).

I didn't realize how corporations infiltrated the black hair care industry until making this mini documentary. To put a relaxer in a box was, in essence, putting a salon in a box. They paid for enough advertising to convince black women that corporations had their best interests better than licensed professionals. Not to say that there weren't trifling salons & hair professionals out there in the 80s and 90s. I'm saying that the triflingness( ik that isn't a word🤫🫣) gave the opening for corporate interests to sever trust with small businesses indefinitely. Now, they're facing all these lawsuits for cancer in women who used these exact same products. Putting a corrosive chemical in a box, then a disclaimer saying " be careful " is a recipe for disaster. Ijs

Do you remember the RIO hair scandal? Some people loved it but may experienced severe hair damage. Anytime the FDA has to step in, you know there's a problem!

We're literally the safe space. SALONS ARE SAFE SPACES. If the abusers know the government MANDATES (not "suggests" but "MANDATES) this "education" they'll know for certain we'll report them as opposed to "might" report them. This is SOLELY about a person who is getting a government contract who will connect with 50 states to charge the fee for federal grants. PERIOD. Let's stop pretending Congress suddenly gives af about violence let alone domestic violence in America. That's not how business nor government works.

It's fascinating to me how so much links back to dehydration. All the processed foods you consume require even more water in order for your body to be able to digest it. Sometimes things are just that simple.

Just in case you didn't understand....

When we go to hair school , the State requires us to learn anatomy. I couldn't understand why they would force us to understand it in order to be licensed. 1. For liability protection for the State (to relieve them of it should lawsuits arise) 2. So you could save yourself from being liable to litigation because you can't answer basic questions your client may have like "why is my hair dry?" or "What are some things I could be doing at home to help my hair growth?"
