Many thanks to LMN Training Director Caroline Broderick for sharing this up close & personal photo. Caroline writes: "A western dusk singing cicada at the Headwaters -Megatibicen resh. Thank you Trish C**n for spotting it." We're not sure whether it's ugly or beautiful, but it's definitely fascinating!

Back to School Safety Reminder

As the new school year approaches, the Comal County Sheriff's Office wants to remind all drivers to exercise extra caution in school zones and around bus stops.

Safety Tips for Drivers:
Slow Down: Reduce your speed in school zones and be prepared to stop quickly.
Obey Traffic Signs: Pay attention to school zone signs, crossing guards, and traffic signals.
Watch for Children: Be vigilant for children walking or biking to and from school.
Stop for School Buses: Remember, it's illegal to pass a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.

By staying alert and following these simple guidelines, we can ensure the safety of our students as they travel to and from school. Let’s work together to make this school year safe and successful for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to our community’s safety.

The Canyon Lake Noon Lions Club collected aluminum cans in the parking lot of the Lowes in Startzville and Sattler, as well as at the Brookshire Brothers and Holiday Inn on 306 this morning. The club takes the cans for recycling and uses the funds to help support the club charities. Last recycling effort yielded $742... thank you for supporting the club by recycling cans at our collection sites!
Please help support the Lions and associated programs, or come be a part of this great organization! www.canyonlakenoonlions.org

Just a friendly reminder that the Comal County Recycling Center Brush Yard is currently full and not accepting any brush at the moment. We're working on getting it all ground into mulch and will likely reopen in mid-August.
You can still swing by the recycling center for FREE mulch! Bring your trucks and trailers (don't forget a tarp!) and we'll help you load up for an outdoor refresh.

Many thanks to LMN Training Director Caroline Broderick for yet another gorgeous photo! Caroline writes: "Beautiful creatures seem to keep throwing themselves before my camera lens this week!! A beautiful group of queens on Gregg’s blue mist flower. Collective nouns for butterflies include a flutter or a rabble." We like "flutter" of butterflies. "Rabble" seems a little...rough!
