🛳 Cabin 1093 onboard Holland America Lines Koningsdam. This category J interior cabin is located midship on the starboard side of deck 1.

This cozy space has a queen bed (or two twins), desk/vanity, ample closet space, and a washroom with a large shower. We spent 7 nights in this cabin, and other than the bed being extremely firm, we enjoyed it. HAL's famous music walk is conveniently located one deck above but produced zero noise. As a bonus, when the gangway is located on deck one, you are a few steps away from getting on/off the ship.

🎭 played host to Mama Mia this week. It was a toe tapping, hand clapping, singing and dancing spectacular. ABBA is a guilty pleasure, and we are guilty.

🛳🇨🇦 Our day in Victoria, BC. The weather for our visit was spectacular. We walked from the ship to downtown along the waterfront path. The views of the harbor were stunning. We stopped in Chinatown for coffee and pastries before doing more sightseeing and some relaxing by the water. As we rested by the water, we watched otters playing and splashing about. All-in-all, it was a wonderful day in Victoria. Can't wait to return.

🛳🥩🥓How is the food on a cruise? It can be as good, if not better, than food you find on land. We had the opportunity to eat lunch at the Pinnacle Grill onboard the Koningsdam.

For only $25 per person, this specialty restaurant will tickle each of your taste buds with every course.

For appetizers, we had the lump crab cake, lobster bisque, and clothesline bacon. Our main dishes were the 12 oz. NY strip and grilled sea bass. There were also side dishes included. The mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and mushrooms were all perfect. After switching over to our second stomachs, we had dessert. The key lime pie and créme brûlée were not to be missed.

Lunch at the Pinnacle Grill is an exceptional value at half the price of dinner with nearly the same menu. Definitely give it a try on your next Holland America Line cruise.

We had a wonderful day here in Astoria, Oregon. The weather was a bit cool and breezy, but the abundant sunshine kept us warm. We ate some yummy food and enjoyed the unique charm of this river-side port town. We shall return! But first, we head to Victoria, British Columbia 🇨🇦 See you there! 👋

🛒🥪Climb the hill from the Astoria waterfront up 8th street to and deli. This was recommended to us by a local shop owner. This small neighborhood market has a deli counter that whips up some delicious sandwiches with the freshest of ingredients. It was definitely worth the climb. If you are in town on a cruise, be sure to give yourself ample time to walk back to the ship.

in Half Moon Bay, CA is a must try. It's a short drive from San Francisco. We had the piña colada pancakes and sweet Dutch baby. Both were excellent. Add to that a hot chocolate (with whipped cream, of course) and bottomless hot coffee for an all-around amazing breakfast experience. You can fly your private airplane to the Half Moon Bay airport and enjoy a $100 cheeseburger (only $18).

The Koningsdam is repositioning from San Diego to Vancouver to begin the Alaska cruise season. It has been almost 4 years since we've cruised aboard a Holland America Line ship. This will also be our first time aboard a Pinnacle-class ship. We look forward to all of the world-class dining and entertainment HAL is known for.

The HAL Koningsdam was launched in 2016 and can accommodate 2650 passengers.
