Thrilled to announce the latest addition to the mic locker at Third Coast is a vintage 1960’s Japanese made ribbon microphone in the style of an RCA from the same time period. The Aiwa VM-12 is rich, warm and sounds massive over the shoulder on drums. A new go to!

Michael and I want to say our biggest thank you to all of our clients, collaborators, friends and family for making 2023 our best year ever, far and away. Between recording, mixing, mastering, educational courses and productions, we’ve had over 500 sessions this year. I had to double check that number to wrap my head around it. When I started Third Coast Recording Company in 2015, I thought the Co. at the end of the name sounded great and presented well but the truth is it wasn’t much of a company at all. I had one vocal microphone, two or three preamps, a bedroom and a whole lot of debt. So when I say thank you in 2023, with the facility we have now, with the team I’ve been so lucky to partner with, and the records and videos we’ve been able to make with all of you, I hope you know how much I mean it. Working with you on your projects has made every obstacle, every unraveling, every derailment worth it. 2023. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Happy new year y’all.

From vocal engineering of rap, pop and r&b to live recording with a full band to mixing, mastering and production, we love to contribute our unique sensibility to the sonics of all kinds of audio. Many of y’all know that I’ll be out on tour with .bites this month but I’ve gotten a few questions regarding scheduling I wanted to clear up here. I’ll be working right up until 8/17, the day before we leave. I’ll be out of the office from 8/18-8/27 and back at work on 8/28. If you’re looking to work ASAP I highly recommend confirming your spot for the coming week as soon as you can! Looking forward to working on as much music as possible until I head out on the road.
