WMCHC RECEIVES JOHN AND HELEN VILLAUME FOUNDATION GRANT
Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) thanks the John and Helen Villaume Foundation upon being awarded a $57,400 grant to help train much needed front-line staff. The funds will be utilized to support WMCHC’s partnership with the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA). Specifically to purchase Skills Lab supplies including microscopes, skeletons, IV/ injection practice arms and more.
As a NIMAA externship partner, WMCHC helps offer affordable career advancement education – through hands on in-clinic experience -- to local individuals who may consider employment after completing the 8-month program. Application deadline for NIMAA’s fall cohort, which begins in August 31st, is set for May 29th. WMCHC is currently anticipating five students for the fall with the Skills Lab portion being held at the Hamlin Family Health Center. It’s not too late to apply for this fall.
