I told this to my 7 year old the other day, who was fascinated! Huh? What do you mean by that Mama? He plays a lot of imagination games with swords and jumping on our bed (we also just finished reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe together :) ). I told him, well, when you are kind, it feels the best inside and things open up for you too. So that’s what you can really be proud about.

I think this is an important teaching for us adults also. So often, we are taught that success is about getting somewhere. But I believe that it’s not just things we list off that we have done (doing), but success is really experienced in the present moment, including how full we feel in our hearts (being). Choosing to be kind in this very moment and the next and the next will fill you with joy and love and connection and have a positive ripple affect across your entire life. Kindness is truth. Kindness is expansive and abundant!
