Sushi recipe
Need list:
Nishiki sushi rice or any short grain rice
Seaweed sheet (sushi Nori)
Rice vinegar
Veggies whatever tickles your fancy that you can slice thin
Meat sliced thin ( I have done deer steaks, tenderloin, chicken and imitation crab)
Cream cheese is optional
1 Medium sauce pan
1 medium frying pan.
Either plastic wrap or I like aluminum foil to use for rolling if you do not have a sushi roller
To cook the rice:
You put 1.1/2 cup of rice in your medium pan and 2 cups of water and a 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar(this helps making it really sticky)
Let it soak in the water in vinegar for 15 min.
Once it has soaked for 15 min you soft boil for 20 min and stir it occasionally so it doesn't stick to the pan. After 20min you cover and let it stand with a lid off the heat for 10 min then you fluff it up with a fork.
Prepping your veggies:
You need to slice them thin long ways so you can have enough room for everything
Prepping the meat:
I have in the past used deer steaks, deer tenderloin, chicken slice thin. I also season them as I would when I am making them on there own. So if you are making deer steaks and tenderloin I will season them with my variety seasoning I make. I also use butter too when frying the my protein up.
Final steps:
When making the rolls I found that aluminum foil works a little better than plastic wrap since I do not have a sushi roller. So I place the Seaweed sheet on the aluminum foil than UT a thin layer of rice down then the veggies, the meat, and cream cheese if you decide to use it. During this time the Seaweed start to become soft and trys to curl up but that's OK. So when you roll it you use I used the foil to help get it started then as I roll more I pull the foil away to help some times it works some times I just use my my hand after I get it started but you have to be careful because the Seaweed will tear. Once you have it rolled up you take a sharp knife and cut them down.
Side not when I made my deer rolls I used A
