2025 was an incredible year filled with so much laughter and love! We got really settled into our new home, *learned* some Portuguese 😅, welcomed tons of visitors, visited Paris twice 😱, and I got corrective eye surgery 👋🏼🤓. Some big milestones were Carl getting promoted to brown belt and I had my first ceramic pop up sale.

We have big plans for 2026 and can't wait to share it all with you 💕

The final full week of 2025! Surrounded by the people we love!

1. Combining Adrienne’s love of plants and my love of coffee into one by checking out this florist & cafe. The smell of fresh flower as you walked in was a cozy hug to the nostrils.
2. Took a beat from the crowded Paris streets to just chat and people watch. Slow travel is definitely our kind of travel hehe
3. Getting to spend time with the oldest brother for the first time since moving here . Sharing a beer and being surrounded by the Christmas spirit of markets!
4. Now 3, the nephew is more talkative and fun to watch being amazed at all the simple things of everyday life. Blessed to be able to explore new countries and eat croissants with the little guy.
5. After 5 days in Paris coming home to our baby girl. But I think she was really only excited to see mama and not me lol 😂
6. Really owning the role of auntie and uncle as we enjoy the sun with the euro family. After rain and cold weather in Paris, the warmth was a perfect hug.
6. Even though or immediate families are on the other side of the world, we were still able to have a beautiful Xmas evening filled with games and homemade sushi with some of our close ones here.

A week just full of love and croissants. Can’t beat that at all

Traveling to Paris for a few days to meet up with family we haven’t seen since moving to Portugal. Exploring the festivities with our 3 year old nephew, having fun in taxis and standing in awe watching garbage trucks go by. Even through the poo weather seeing a kid filled with so much joy at the simplest things is a reminder that life is magical.

Greetings with pastries in our face - mais bien sûr, nous sommes à Paris! Interestingly, this time we are actually struggling NOT to speak Portuguese - it's a good sign, né? I mean, non? 😅

The brain and tongue are definitely struggling, so it's best just to stuff our mouths with food so we can avoid conversation all together. 🥐

3. Doing homework from .coaching who’s helping me grow as a person so much.
4. Committing to do 6am band work on non Jits days!

6. Back in the cave with those who make me better and push my limits. Grateful for moments like these
7. Caring for my plant babies. Even in winter there’s lots to do for plant babies.

Apparently we make about 30,000 decisions a day… and most of them happen on autopilot.
So today we decided to actually notice a few.
To choose the walk.
To choose the conversation.
To choose presence instead of rushing.
And it’s a bit wild how even the smallest intentional choices made our day feel calmer, closer… more ours.

If you’re trying to live and love a little more on purpose too, you’re in good company 🤍

Throwback, because we're feeling nostalgic with the rainy weather today.

A decade ago. One of our earliest dates. Back when I still only had one side of my head shaved 😁.

We could never have imagined the people we'd become or the things we'd have done - and it was really because of the people in our lives (including each other). Especially nowadays, as we search for and build new communities and relationships, we're becoming so aware of how much you give and get and are influenced by people around you.

Now that I am older, I have more autonomy to choose the people in my life and I'm learning that it's important to be thoughtful. I think about how much capacity I have and the opportunity costs - some relationships take priority over others and I can't forget about my relationship with myself too. I think about how much I've learned from everyone else or how I discovered a love of something because someone else introduced it to me (Carl is one of them 😜)

Isn't it just a wonder, how much life can change - how much YOU can change, depending on the people in your life? ✨

Tiny Sparks ep.3

A week full of productivity. From sticking to daily habits to setting the mood to get things done.

1. Heading to Paris soon and not taking the big camera so we’ve been playing with a little iphone rig with an ssd so can shoot log and all the techy stuff. Wanted test out the quals while cooking! What do you think?
2. Morning routines consists of yoga for her and resistance band work for him. Also, more sleeping for the doggy
3. My biggest goal in Jits is not only to soak in all the knowledge and improve but to be a great training partner for my teammates who compete at a high level. Im blessed to be surrounded by the chillest, kindest, most talented people who invite me to private sessions to train. Thanks for the rolls
4. Finally bit the bullet and bought a printer! Had to get one that was good enough to print all our photos as well as the basics.
5. Setting the vibes with candles, or a diffuser with some oils that sent over is a must when editing videos!
6. When asked if we have kids we always say we have a dog and a ton of plant babies. That .welhome pitcher doesn’t only make the best latte art lol
7. One of the favorite creations of .by.enne is this wax warmer where you can drop some essential oils into the wax and it all acts as if you had a never ending candle, filling the room with good smells and great vibes

The autumn season is the perfect time to slow down and notice all the change around us and maybe even consider the changes we've gone through within - and to prepare for changes we want to see next.

Carl has always been that force for change and progress, which has been helpful for someone like me, who is a spirit of contentment and going with the flow. In that way we complement each other. It feels like Carl is a bit more autumn: vibrant, fluctuating, and bursting. And perhaps I am more like winter: still, burrowing, and more muted.

Regardless, this has been a significant time of growth for the both of us. I think we can all use a little reminder that whatever space we're in right now, it's fleeting - let's enjoy it for all it is and look forward to what comes next. ✨🌰🍂🍄

The Magic Between Milestones!

Watching Adrienne's journey with ceramics over the past year and a half has been incredible. From joining a weekly group to creating wonderful pieces, she's brought her passion home and set up a cozy station to keep creating. I've witnessed her dedication and inspiration, and seen her tackle stress and anxiety with confidence. Proud doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. She's a talented, creative force who reminds me that showing up, no matter what, is progress. First ceramics pop-up was a success!

A busy but awesome week has gone by. There’s so many things that were celebrated and a couple things that weren’t recorded like a Friendsgiving meal to celebrate with some fellow Americans here in Portugal.

1. Current Korean drama that we’re watching, Dear X
2. Was promoted to Brown Belt in Jiu jitsu by my coach, Ricardo Vieira!
3. A calm afternoon using our hands, .by.enne
4/5. Last week sent us a load of fresh 🌶️ from Sweden! This week making a number of things with them!
6. Fun zoom calls and meetings with clients and coaches in the US even during a busy holiday week. 🦃
7. Nothing beats the vibes when Kaka wants to cuddle with us while reading a book. Current book, The Fourth Daughter by Lyn Liao Butler
