Delivery Update
In honor of former President Jimmy Carter, a National Day of Observance has been declared for Thursday, January 9th. That means no mail delivery this Thursday. This will impact our ability to deliver the paper to you. Right now, we are working diligently to prepare the Journals for delivery on Wednesday, January 8th. The success if this endeavor relies on a number of things we cannot control and we hope to be in your mailboxes a day early. Thank you for understanding.

Official Release

No mail delivery January 9 due to National Day of Observance for former President Jimmy Carter

Because a National Day of Observance has been declared to honor the death of former President Jimmy Carter, the US Postal Service will suspend regular mail deliveries, retail services and administrative office activity on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025.

The National Newspaper Association and the USPS have both made notifications regarding the service suspensions.

The USPS will continue to accept and process volume dropped by commercial mailers at mail processing facilities. Limited package delivery service will take place on Jan. 9 to ensure USPS does not experience any impacts to its package delivery operations that may negatively affect customers or business partners.
