Man what an end to the 2024 Digimon Card Game year!

320 Players in the day 1 Swiss & I finished 2nd Place after the 9 rounds only losing to 1st!

Day 2, I ended at Top 16 (9th overall) after 2 great 3 game matches in Top Cut. Taking the L in the 2nd one to my homie Nick’s Mirage.

This was 100% my best performance EVER since the game’s inception & it happened to be at the most important event of the year so I will take that, thank God & continue to go for better. 💪🏾

It was also dope to be up there in top 16 with the homies!! Like how often does that happen?? Congratulations to Tyler Cyr on Top 16 & huge congrats Anthony Senegal Jr. & Nicholas Hutchens for ending Top 8!!

North American National Finals in Orlando was easily the best they’ve ever ran these last 4 years. Every round ran smoothly, no wild hiccups and far from chaotic. Huge thank you to Bandai, PlayTCG & all the Judges for holding it all together.

Yooooo! GenCon Regional 2024 in the books!

It has been a long 4ish years pressing competition in this game but, today I finally got my first Top 3 placement in a Regional event EVER!🥉

I’ve gotten a few top 16’s and 32’s but, beyond excited for my first Top 4 🤞🏾😩 Forgive me, idk how to act. 🤣

The app says it was 184 players but, I believe the level 0 judge said it was 178 so I’m unsure which is correct.

Yellow Armor Vaccine is hands down my favorite deck right now so I ran with my ninth build of it.

Round 1: Green Cherubi win 2-0
Round 2: Blue Armor (Gift Win) win 2-0
Round 3: Mirage win 2-0
Round 4: Black Nume (Tyler LOL) cooked 0-2
Round 5: Yellow Vaccine (Mirror) win 2-0

3rd place at 7-1, Omni #220 and my 2024 invite secured.

I also got to hangout and talk with the lady at the forefront of Digimon Card Game & it was great to hear some perspective and give real feedback.

What’s good Digi Family!

Finally, another big event came around up here in the Big East thanks to Rescue Gaming Collectibles doing their part to keep the community active & hungry!🫡

36 Tamers filled the house for a baker’s dozen case event & it was as surely a sight to see!

Looga is super fun, I love the deck but, can be very rough to pilot into certain matchups 🥴

I was able to close out the event 4-1 taking 6th place & then at top 8, we all decide to take the even prizing split & go home!

Hello Digimon Family! 👾

It is 2023 & I have finally attended my first Gen Con! What a wild weekend it has been!

During the convention I competed in not one but, two Digimon Regional Championships with over 200 other tamers each day fighting for 2023 National Finals invitations, the championship play-mat & other cool-ish prizing.

I am very excited to report that I walked away with my Nationals Invitation secured AND watched a great friend of mine & Big East native win the whole Sunday regional!

My choice for the weekend was ShineGreymon. 🫡 I did a lot of testing around the community in the leading weeks & decided it was what I felt most comfortable with trying to play from behind if I had to. I actually ended up playing the same list for both events as my now 6th iteration within the BT13 format.

Day 2 was a bit awkward because that specific event was shifted to Best of One at the last minute due to time constraints of the stadium.

Let’s talk placements and matchups though!

➡️Gen Con Day 1: I ended 33rd Place out of 246 Tamers, with a match record of 5-2

⚡️Round 2: VS ShineGreymon Mirror LOSS 1-2 (He Heaven’s Judgement’d a stack & then bricked the rest of game 3)

EX04 Alternative Being release weekend is coming to a close but, it certainly was a great one!

A 27 Tamer Brawl for a EX04 Case happened at Imperial Gaming and Collectibles on Saturday where I took 2nd with WarGame!🥈💪🏾 (Top 16 posted below). Immediately followed by a 13 Tamer Store Championship the next day at Most Excellent Comics & Gaming where I landed in 4th.

Digi Fam!! I am at a loss for words at the moment!

As most of you know, yesterday Bandai Japan had a huge 40ish minute presentation giving new information on the future of the game.

As of Starter Deck 15, 16 & BT14 Blast Ace, we’ve got some exciting mechanics coming into play with actual hand effects on the opponents turn. “Hand Traps” of sorts if you’re familiar with Yugioh which are way down the line for us here.

One thing they mentioned was an all new Mulligan Mechanic being added to the main game as of May 1st in Japanese Game. It seems for us here in English format, we’re getting an early gift with the restriction of BT11 Greymon X⁉️

Here we come to the conclusion of Digimon Card Game North American Finals 2022 Day 1❗️

Out of 1,001 total competitors, I ended the event at 102’d place running with my favorite Digimon’s cousin, BLACKWARGREYMON❤️‍🔥

Ending in the top 10%💪🏾

I started out extremely strong going undefeated through the 6th Round but, I guess my luck ran out coming into Round 7 😅.

Round 7 I played another mirror but, my opponent opened more reserve pieces than I did in both games with the memory boosts waiting for his exploding moment. Very hard to play from behind facing him & I usually don’t mind playing from behind with this deck but, he was well prepared for my potential clap back.

Xros Heart in Round 8, the matchup is generally favored so when he flipped the Pickmons egg, my mind was at “I should have this game” however, variance got me bad there. I gave him 7 memory at my starting turn hoping his only reply would’ve been a 1-2 piece X7 or just set up but, instead that led to me taking 4 damage his very 2nd turn.

Sec Con (KingSuka/Bagra) in Round 9 was probably my most aggravating match of the day for sure. Sec Con is a match I’ve practiced a lot but, I knew nothing of KingSukamon & Bagramon being played in any variations so my frustration came from just not knowing a way out. I’d be under Yuuya Protection & set up for the following turn so he’d turn my MetalGreymon or Mega Level Digimon into a Sukamon which pretty much would make my next turn unplayable.

Overall, I am very ok with my performance this National Finals. The field was very well versed which was cool & I think that with what I had to work with at any given moment, I did the best I could.💫

Next year, we come back and come harder‼️

3❗️MORE❗️DAYS ❗️to Digimon Card Game’s Philadelphia Regional event at TooManyGames Convention!

With EX-2 Digital Hazard being released just in time for the Pro-Play Games hosted, Nationals Invitation & coveted prizing race, you can only imagine how much testing & studying myself and the crew have been grinding out this week! So many decks in the Gauntlet at this point, it’s hard to pin-point what the opening rounds will actually look like this time.😅

Remember kids, if someone arrives at your locals and the first question they ask is, “Is anyone playing Red?” The answer is always, “YES‼️” Thank me later! 😌

Origins Game Fair’s DOUBLE IN-PERSON Digimon Card Game REGIONALS WEEKEND HAS CONCLUDED ⚜️

You all remember my shenanigans in BT5 with Mastemon? She’s a whole different beast now and a whole lot of fun!! 😮‍💨

The great news, through many ups & downs game to game, match to match, I was ultimately able to secure my 2022 Nationals Invitation on Day #1 Ending 4 wins, 1 loss, 1 tie I landed 13th place comfortably in Top 16 out of the 116 players🏅💪🏾

Day #2, There were 2 changes I wanted to make to my list prior to but, I did some reflecting & drew the conclusion that more deck changes won’t fix personal mistakes so went back with it as is to gun for better! That didn’t go as planned lol but, it’s all good, more work to put in, better to come!Ending 4 wins, 2 losses, 1 tie, I landed 43rd place on Day 2 for the Top 64 placement out of the 190 players.

All in all though, this was 100% YellowHybrid.Event 🫠 You’ll understand below, check out the 8-3-2 full weekend reel👇🏾

If I am to change anything about the deck going forward, I’m definitely going to put Salamon to 1 or make it 3rd Psychemon or go 4 of on Candlemon. Salamon’s inheritable just doesn’t come up enough to matter. A few other cute tech ideas in mind as well but, saving them for rainy days!

Absolutely had to have my favorite card in my deck this format signed by the absolute Purple King 👑 & heavy inspiration for this runs lists himself. Can you guess who? 🤭
