What’s good Digi Family!

Finally, another big event came around up here in the Big East thanks to Rescue Gaming Collectibles doing their part to keep the community active & hungry!🫡

36 Tamers filled the house for a baker’s dozen case event & it was as surely a sight to see!

Looga is super fun, I love the deck but, can be very rough to pilot into certain matchups 🥴

I was able to close out the event 4-1 taking 6th place & then at top 8, we all decide to take the even prizing split & go home!

Hello Digimon Family! 👾

It is 2023 & I have finally attended my first Gen Con! What a wild weekend it has been!

During the convention I competed in not one but, two Digimon Regional Championships with over 200 other tamers each day fighting for 2023 National Finals invitations, the championship play-mat & other cool-ish prizing.

I am very excited to report that I walked away with my Nationals Invitation secured AND watched a great friend of mine & Big East native win the whole Sunday regional!

My choice for the weekend was ShineGreymon. 🫡 I did a lot of testing around the community in the leading weeks & decided it was what I felt most comfortable with trying to play from behind if I had to. I actually ended up playing the same list for both events as my now 6th iteration within the BT13 format.

Day 2 was a bit awkward because that specific event was shifted to Best of One at the last minute due to time constraints of the stadium.

Let’s talk placements and matchups though!

➡️Gen Con Day 1: I ended 33rd Place out of 246 Tamers, with a match record of 5-2

⚡️Round 2: VS ShineGreymon Mirror LOSS 1-2 (He Heaven’s Judgement’d a stack & then bricked the rest of game 3)

A 27 Tamer Brawl for a EX04 Case happened at Imperial Gaming and Collectibles on Saturday where I took 2nd with WarGame!🥈💪🏾 (Top 16 posted below). Immediately followed by a 13 Tamer Store Championship the next day at Most Excellent Comics & Gaming where I landed in 4th.

Digi Fam!! I am at a loss for words at the moment!

As most of you know, yesterday Bandai Japan had a huge 40ish minute presentation giving new information on the future of the game.

As of Starter Deck 15, 16 & BT14 Blast Ace, we’ve got some exciting mechanics coming into play with actual hand effects on the opponents turn. “Hand Traps” of sorts if you’re familiar with Yugioh which are way down the line for us here.

One thing they mentioned was an all new Mulligan Mechanic being added to the main game as of May 1st in Japanese Game. It seems for us here in English format, we’re getting an early gift with the restriction of BT11 Greymon X⁉️

April 1st 😭 Ladies & Gentlemen!! The Homies HATE No Mulligan Rule & we WON!! After nearly 3 years for the English Version, over 3 years in Asian Market, WE MADE IT!

Here we come to the conclusion of Digimon Card Game North American Finals 2022 Day 1❗️

Out of 1,001 total competitors, I ended the event at 102’d place running with my favorite Digimon’s cousin, BLACKWARGREYMON❤️‍🔥

Ending in the top 10%💪🏾

I started out extremely strong going undefeated through the 6th Round but, I guess my luck ran out coming into Round 7 😅.

Round 7 I played another mirror but, my opponent opened more reserve pieces than I did in both games with the memory boosts waiting for his exploding moment. Very hard to play from behind facing him & I usually don’t mind playing from behind with this deck but, he was well prepared for my potential clap back.

Xros Heart in Round 8, the matchup is generally favored so when he flipped the Pickmons egg, my mind was at “I should have this game” however, variance got me bad there. I gave him 7 memory at my starting turn hoping his only reply would’ve been a 1-2 piece X7 or just set up but, instead that led to me taking 4 damage his very 2nd turn.

Sec Con (KingSuka/Bagra) in Round 9 was probably my most aggravating match of the day for sure. Sec Con is a match I’ve practiced a lot but, I knew nothing of KingSukamon & Bagramon being played in any variations so my frustration came from just not knowing a way out. I’d be under Yuuya Protection & set up for the following turn so he’d turn my MetalGreymon or Mega Level Digimon into a Sukamon which pretty much would make my next turn unplayable.

Overall, I am very ok with my performance this National Finals. The field was very well versed which was cool & I think that with what I had to work with at any given moment, I did the best I could.💫

Next year, we come back and come harder‼️

3❗️MORE❗️DAYS ❗️to Digimon Card Game’s Philadelphia Regional event at TooManyGames Convention!

With EX-2 Digital Hazard being released just in time for the Pro-Play Games hosted, Nationals Invitation & coveted prizing race, you can only imagine how much testing & studying myself and the crew have been grinding out this week! So many decks in the Gauntlet at this point, it’s hard to pin-point what the opening rounds will actually look like this time.😅

Remember kids, if someone arrives at your locals and the first question they ask is, “Is anyone playing Red?” The answer is always, “YES‼️” Thank me later! 😌

Origins Game Fair’s DOUBLE IN-PERSON Digimon Card Game REGIONALS WEEKEND HAS CONCLUDED ⚜️

You all remember my shenanigans in BT5 with Mastemon? She’s a whole different beast now and a whole lot of fun!! 😮‍💨

The great news, through many ups & downs game to game, match to match, I was ultimately able to secure my 2022 Nationals Invitation on Day #1 Ending 4 wins, 1 loss, 1 tie I landed 13th place comfortably in Top 16 out of the 116 players🏅💪🏾

Day #2, There were 2 changes I wanted to make to my list prior to but, I did some reflecting & drew the conclusion that more deck changes won’t fix personal mistakes so went back with it as is to gun for better! That didn’t go as planned lol but, it’s all good, more work to put in, better to come!Ending 4 wins, 2 losses, 1 tie, I landed 43rd place on Day 2 for the Top 64 placement out of the 190 players.

All in all though, this was 100% YellowHybrid.Event 🫠 You’ll understand below, check out the 8-3-2 full weekend reel👇🏾

If I am to change anything about the deck going forward, I’m definitely going to put Salamon to 1 or make it 3rd Psychemon or go 4 of on Candlemon. Salamon’s inheritable just doesn’t come up enough to matter. A few other cute tech ideas in mind as well but, saving them for rainy days!

Absolutely had to have my favorite card in my deck this format signed by the absolute Purple King 👑 & heavy inspiration for this runs lists himself. Can you guess who? 🤭

WHAT’S GOING ON EVERYONE, I AM HERE 🙌🏾

BT8 New Awakening has been a ride so far and at only less than 2 weeks in, I’ve been hard at work in prep for 😬THREE😬 In-Person Regionals this month‼️Starting with Origins Game Fair’s DOUBLE event week beginning in less than SIX DAYS!! 256 Players, 2 Separate days, both hosted by Pro-Play Games in Columbus, Ohio👏🏾

As you can imagine prep has been fierce & nonstop! This brand new meta has brought so much more that can win to the table & much less oppressive matchups! It is exciting to see the creativity coming to front, especially with the new Starter Decks arrivals in the English game! For the first time, we are witnessing Starter Decks that actually place a force in the meta game!! Only took BANDAI this long right?? 😂

My excitement is unreal to finally have a broad & expanding schedule of Digimon Card Game In-Person & sanctioned Regional Events in the United States‼️ Digimon Card Game Fests were only the beginning but, A-Kon this weekend (Can’t make) Origins Game Fair next week, TooManyGames at the end of the month & still more to be announced!! This is huge for the game, we’ve been begging for this & it’s finally here!!

The only sad thing is, what happened to Mulligan⁉️ They ginea pig’d us, we performed, it seems like majority of the players loved it, so why don’t these regionals have it in place⁉️ Of course local game stores across the nations can choose to play as they want based on their player base but, for locals with people in attendance like myself, my friends & the remaining majority around the North East that are hyper competitive & attending these events, it doesn’t even make sense!😭

Anywho, one of my crewmates came up with a slogan that speaks for the homies 👏🏾 If you see me in it at Regionals, don’t be a stranger, say hello!! Take a photo with me even! We gotta let Bandai know how this hurt the homies 🥺💯

The SECOND In-Person 512 player Digimon Card Game FEST, this time hosted by Pro-Play Games has officially come to a close & advanced to Top Cut💫

Today I walked in with one mission which was to do as promised & perform better than last weekend.

I am here to tell you, behind the Warrior of Flame, we accomplished that mission at 27TH PLACE out of 512 💪🏾❤️‍🔥 The Top 5%‼️

Finished out the event 6W, 2L after losing in Round 5, which did involve a bad judge call & then an unfortunate loss at Table 6 in Round 8.

Today was that event, a second week in a row, we’ve all been waiting for and again, I’m blessed to have been fortunate enough to participate in it & grateful for how I pulled it together & did after learning from last weekend in Arlington.

The event ran extremely smooth, everything was on time & through Best Coast Pairings & we were done by 7:30 which completely shifted my perspective a bit on, “Best event I’ve ever attended.” Lol but, I will definitely say, Arlington, TX Digi Fest with Playtcg was still definitely a hard 2nd place, just on space alone. 🙏🏾😭

Y’all again, absolutely know I am not one to share lists however, I really want to show you guys how things evolved & where my thoughts went after Texas🤟🏾

Blue Hybrid still got the best of me as two of those pairings were my only 2 losses today but, I definitely know what I need to focus on more for that matchup. It’s just very rough keeping up with them when the security checks we deal all often equal benefit to the Blue Hybrid player.

You guys heard my experience from Day 1, now let’s check out the homie Battle Ready Inc’s latest video speaking about his full experience of DIGI Fest Arlington, TX with Playtcg including some talk about Day 2💫

This fellow Digimon Card Game Content Creator & his family are wholeheartedly some of the most wholesome people I had the fortune to connect with at this event for sure & I am super excited for our paths to cross again🤙🏾

My only sadness was we hadn’t the moment to play some games! However, we did really have some great in depth analysis conversations of some of the decks & matchups we were both experiencing & witnessing! Even the matchup he touches on in this video where he & a Cherubimon player by the name of Austin that we were talking to all day ended up paired in Round 8 😱

Overall, he touches on his Yellow/Purple experience & matchups throughout the almost 15 hour day, the logistics behind the event, the uglier moments where the hosts had to quickly re-focus attention & the overall Great Time with great players from around the country🤟🏾

DAY 1 of Digimon Card Game’s DIGI FEST Arlington, TX hosted by Playtcg has officially come to a close and boy what a day it was🤟🏾

Out of 512 players & 8 rounds, I finished tied for 88th place & sealed my position in top 128‼️💪🏾💪🏾

Ended X-3 after some losses to matchups I definitely did not expect as much of as I had! Also didn’t encounter ANY of the matchups I came highly anticipating But, will absolutely go into detail with that below 👇🏾

Today was 100% the event we’ve all been waiting for and I’m extremely happy to have been fortunate enough to participate in it & perform as well as I did, even with not making Top Cut 🤙🏾 With the hiccups there were in the beginning, the T.O’s team really pulled it all together & I was able to meet & hang out with really great people & cannot wait to do this again next weekend.

Those of you who have been following absolutely know I am not one to share lists, especially since I am playing in next week’s DIGI FEST Miami event with Pro-Play Games 😂

However, this will not be how I’m playing this next week, being more aware that Blue Hybrid can be an extreme hard heel to the way I’m running this currently. Let me know what you think of what I brought & the comfort I found in it to this point 🙏🏾

3❗️MORE❗️DAYS ❗️to DIGI FEST Arlington, TX with Playtcg!

The excitement is unreal to finally have an in person event of this caliber for Digimon Card Game English Version reach the United States & be playing in it‼️

As you can imagine, preparation for this intense weekend is no easy feat & neither will it be the weekend after with Pro-Play Games at DIGI FEST Miami, FL but, best believe I am giving it all I can & I hope you all do too❤️‍🔥🔥
