Afraid of heights?
The Trumbull-Nelson Construction Company, Inc. crew at Rauner Special Collections Library certainly isn't! Scaffolding around the building has now been fully removed. This doesn't mean the project is over, it just means we are entering a new phase of construction.
The crew will now be focusing on the repointing of the eastern façade, which is now well underway. Repointing is where deteriorating mortar joints are removed and filled with new mortar. This work will continue throughout the month.

Here is a progress update from the sailing facility! The Boat House is looking good as the framing is completed. Workers are now moving on to the exterior trim of the roof and shingling,
A new milestone to be on the look out for is the Boat House will officially be weather tight in early June.

We are thrilled to announce that East Wheelock House Andres Hall has been awarded the prestigious LEED Gold certification, a testament to our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Construction for Andres Hall, one of four houses that make up the East Wheelock cluster, along with Zimmerman Hall, Morton Hall, and Brace Commons, was completed in August of 2023. This project marks the first step in our ambitious long-term plan to renovate roughly 60% of Dartmouth's residence halls. Your support and involvement are crucial to the success of this plan, and we are excited to share this new achievement with you!

What is LEED?
According to the U.S. Green Building Council - New Hampshire Chapter (USGBC-NH), LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings.
How is it awarded?
The LEED certifications are awarded by points earned from meeting specific criteria in different categories. There are 110 points total that can be awarded. To qualify, projects have to be a minimum of 1000 square feet. Four levels of certification can be granted: Certified 40-49 points, Silver 50-59 points, Gold 60-79 points, and Platinum 80+ points.
The top three categories Andres Hall scored in are Innovation, Regional priority, Energy, and Atmosphere.

What’s happening at Leverone Field House?
“You may have noticed the stacks of insulation and roofing membrane peeking over the temporary fence at Leverone…sure signs that roof work is about to begin! Looks like Mother Nature has other ideas!
Roof replacement will begin after the 2’ of snow melts off the roof. Luckily for us, the uninsulated structure won’t hold that snow for long. It will be a different (heat loss) story once we install the Air/Vapor barrier and R40 of rigid insulation to this concrete structure. “
We update our websites “what’s currently happening” section on all our projects every other Friday. For more information on this project or others visit our website to learn more!

Shaw Contract came into our office last week so our project managers could experience their flooring products in person! Our region’s Shaw Contract representative Dana Boudreau answered all of our questions and made sure we had plenty of samples to review. (Along with bringing us some springtime treats!)

We occasionally bring in our vendors so our PM’s can learn about new products, experience materials firsthand, and ask any questions they have. Being able to physically touch and manipulate products helps to give our PM’s more understanding of the material’s durability, texture, and feel among other things. Having this open dialogue during sessions helps us better understand the products we specify and install across campus.
