Today we received this this photo and some other donations from Ray Merritt to our display we are putting together at the Eastern Oregon Museum in Haines. If you have some of these old photos or items from past Haines Stampede events we would like to see them and maybe add them to our display. News articles and pictures will be copied and returned. Buckles other materials is up to the donors request on how they would like it handled. This photo is from a late 1970’s rodeo. Huge Thank You today to Adam Phillips Trucking, Scott Sherman Trucking and Jeff Smith of J2K Excavating. These guys finished the hauling from Harney Rock to the grounds. We are on track to have the dirt work completed on the raised ADA compliant seating area done by the 30th.

The first load for the new handicap accessible seating area arrived today. Thank you Triple C for donating the haul. Bob Bowers driver. Harney Rock of North Powder is donating the material to do the fill.

Decide not to snow today, so a few enthusiastic volunteers did the ground breaking on our elevated, handicap assessable seating area. More post on the project will come as the job progresses.

Spring is in the air! Queen Makea started out Friday cleaning the court trailer then we got together Saturday to get the trailer put together, put up speakers, and started picking rocks out of the arena.

This week at the Haines Stampede Lexi and Colleen are painting the room that will be home to our archives at the Eastern Oregon Museum in Haines. Meanwhile back at the grounds the speakers are going up after being taken down over the winter. The court trailer is getting ready for new signage, and the area has been plotted out and inventory organized for the new raised seating area that will be handicap accessible. Don’t forget the water leaks

Thank you to all of our supporters at our annual Christmas Tree Sale. We were able to sell out in 16 days. Proceeds from the tree sales supports the court for their travel expenses over the next year and allows us to make a sizable donation to the North Powder/ Haines food bank Christmas baskets. Our 2022 court will be Makea Robb, Dakota Anderson, and Brooke Parsons. We will announce our Queen at our annual February dinner
