The Cycling Academy Scotland's best cycling team and development program The exception is David Millar who started his cycling while living in Hong Kong.

It's 26 years since Scotland had a domestically developed World Tour Road Cyclist and even longer since we had a male British Road Race Champion. In 2020 the UK had 25 World Tour level riders and has an incredible 5 Grand Tour winners in the modern era. In Scotland we have World and Olympic Champions in almost every other cycling discipline so we figured there must be a systemic reason for the ano

maly. We looked in detail at the data and found big gaps in success pathways. So The Cycling Academy was born and we are planning to make a little history one day. If you'd like to learn how or want to get involved in the project let's talk. It's going to be fun.

2024 was the last season for The Cycling Academy [for the foreseeable future] . Our deal with Arnold Clark came to an end and the 1500 hours a year of team manager duties became hard to mix with actual work.
Four brilliant seasons on the tarmac, mud and wood delivered loads of Scottish Champs, Scotland's first British Junior Road Champ and some nice podiums in the UK and Europe. We also nudged some riders down the line of pro careers, enjoyed some proper digging in, and benefited from an amazing group staff and volunteers.
Spending time with young folks striving in the worlds hardest sport is an incredible privilege and unbeatable experience. Junior Men's Road racing is progressing fast with more investment and professionalism every year.

For our final UCI race we were one of the few teams without support from the world tour, but we brought home flowers and metal work.

Thanks and Mark Young and everyone, who drove, fixed, cooked and supported.

I hope to be back in bike racing some day. In the meantime keep pedalling!
Peter
