The historic area is magical with old town charm with wide cobblestone streets, architecture and all these little fun alleyways. 🎄While our cruise was not labeled a Christmas market cruise, we were so happy to see many in every stop! 🎄The town square was so special where the elementary school classrooms decorate a tree. It was so sweet watching local families coming to look at the trees. 🎄 Experiencing Europe at Christmas was truly a dream come true! 💫 Budapest💫 We had several days in Budapest with our Viking pre-extension. Our last day was spent exploring the Buda side of the Danube River which is hilly and where most live to have green space. The Pest side is flat and urban. The architecture and bridges are stunning. A must see is the WW2 shoe memorial where Jews were made to step out of their shoes so they could be sold before they were executed to fall into the Danube River. The emotions it makes one feel…..I plan to sprinkle in all of our trip this month with Viking Danube Waltz Cruise. 🚢 Budapest is a must see city! Parliament in Budapest, Hungary 🇭🇺 The building is magnificent and one of the oldest legislative buildings in Europe and one of the largest in Hungary. It’s 880 feet long and 315 feet high. It was built between 1885 and 1902. No detail was left undone! Notice the gold numbered cigar holders? They smoked large cigars and would place them in the numbered holder before entering session. Hello sweet friends, it’s been a bit since I lasted posted. I wasn’t motivated to post with all the devastation in the area from Helene, and I’ve been keeping my sweet 6 month old granddaughter, Phoebe. She is a doll and has started fake coughing for laughs! It’s soup season!!! We tried this Bob’s Red Mill Veggie soup mix. Pretty yummy and easy! I followed the directions on the back of the bag. I did add more salt to taste, some Italian seasoning, couple splashes of tobacco and a long squirt of Italian dressing. I also had some shredded chicken that I needed to use.
