Free Holiday Events in North Florida
- [ ] Nights of lights in Downtown St Augustine is going on now until Jan 26.
- [ ] Vilano Beach holiday village open now through Dec 21. Every Saturday in December will feature a tree lighting, visits with Santa and Mrs Clause, live music, holiday movies, hot chocolate, coffee drinks and much more.
- [ ] Deck the chairs at Jacksonville Beach is a holiday display featuring decorated lifeguard chairs. Now through Jan 1. 5-1am
- [ ] Hometown holiday in the park is a free event in Orange Park. It’s only Dec 6-7 from 5-9pm at Clarke House Park. There will be free hay rides and train rides, music, and a shopping village. You can get pictures with Santa for $20 and pony rides are $5.
- [ ] Moonlight movies in Jacksonville Beach at the SeaWalk Pavilion will feature holiday movies such as The Grinch Dec 6 from 6-8. There will be concessions available but you can bring a blanket and snacks.
- [ ] One Church living nativity is in Jacksonville Beach. A living Nativity performance will repeat every 20 minutes 6:30-7:30 Dec 13&14. Watch from your car or get out and mingle.
- [ ] The Christmas Market at the Clay County Fair Grounds will feature over 80 vendors, food trucks, and more. Free entry. Dec 14. 10-3pm.
- [ ] A very merry movie night will be held at Chet’s Creek Church 6625 Terry Rd Jax. They will be playing some Christmas classics along with free popcorn and hot chocolate. Free photos with Santa and the Grinch will also be available.

There’s so much free Disney stuff to do without going to the parks. If you have kids but can’t afford Disney itself, there’s ways around it. Go to Disney Springs, catch a bus (or water taxi) to whatever resort you want(I suggest Art of Animation). See all of the Christmas lights and HUGE lobby trees 🎄, have some lunch 🥪 (it’s really not that much). Then catch a bus, water taxi, or even a gondola 🚡(😱) to another resort, watch a moonlight movie under the stars and make some s’more’s. You can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from Polynesian resort beach(amazing show, makes me cry). Head back to Disney Springs to do the Christmas tree stroll (free) then you can head home or walk around for more fun stuff. There you have it..a fun ‘free’ Disney day. You just need gas and some money to eat. Let me know if you don’t know what resorts to go to. I’ve seen them all.

I feel like with the way things are now, families should know these options are available if you’re on a budget. I’m by no means as rich as I look. 🤪

Disney springs opens at 10am and closes at 11pm so make sure you get back on time to get to your car. Tip: download the app so you can save your parking spot number, make reservations or check dining options for each resort. Enjoy! 🧡
