NEW RECORD: The 2024-2025 winter season has officially been ranked as the lowest snowfall EVER recorded at this point of the season! The metro has only received 1" of snow since the start of the season. At this point, we're suppose to have around 13" of accumulated snow.

FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAYS: We've been alerting you to dangerously cold wind chills the past few days and now it's here! Starting as of 10 PM Sunday night, the First Alert 6 Weather Days has begun and will continue through Tuesday.

Wind chills could fall to -20 degrees from Sunday through Tuesday which can cause frostbite within 30 minutes of exposed skin. Make sure to wear layers including your furry friends.

A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for most of the area including the metro through noon on Tuesday. Stay warm!

It seems like Green Bay followed me into Omaha! I've seen a few Omaha residents with Packers gear. I wish all the luck to the Packers as they face off against the Eagles and I really hope the Packers win. Maybe an old-fashioned could send some luck! 🤣💛💚

FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAY: From now through Monday, we're under a First Alert 6 Weather Day due to heavy snow and frigid wind chills.

The last snowfall forecast before the snow starts falling still looks to be close to the previous forecast. The only difference is higher snowfall possible for the far southern counties where they could reach up to a FOOT of snow. The metro is still expected to get only 1-3" of snow. The bulk of the heavy snow will fall overnight early Sunday morning.

Once the snow is done Sunday night, Monday will be frigid as wind chills will fall to near -10 degrees. Bundle up and be safe on the roads! ❄️❄️❄️

I’m not one who usually wears ugly Christmas sweaters, but I thought “Why not try it this year?” and it paid off. I participated in a contest and won by the votes of my peers. Mine is a dinosaur shredding an electric guitar. 🎸 Always be willing to try something new because you never know if you like it if you don’t try. 😎

FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAY: Saturday is under a First Alert 6 Weather Day due to the icy roads still being reported across the metro and other communities. Some areas are still seeing scattered freezing rain keeping the icy conditions on the roads.

It's highly recommended that you don't drive this morning due to the ice. Once temperatures reach above freezing this afternoon, the ice will start slowly melting which will improve the road conditions. If you have to go anywhere this morning, please slow down! ❄️

TRAFFIC: Multiple wrecks are being reported across the area! Road conditions are worsening by the minute as ice continues to form over many highways. I'm hearing reports of people having a hard time driving up hills. Please, be careful outside if you have to drive in this! 🤭

FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAY: We have a solid chance for freezing rain starting mid afternoon as isolated then becoming widespread overnight causing icy conditions. Ice accumulation could reach up to 0.10", possibly more north of I-80. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the whole area through Saturday morning.

This depends on temperatures! If temperatures warm up faster than expected, then ice accumulation will decrease. If we get to 32 degrees or higher, then ice accumulation will decrease.

This will be a close call so any minor change to the weather will impact the ice threat. Be extremely cautious especially tonight and Saturday morning!
