A little behind the scenes from setting up a shot in the latest video I directed for @thej_hawkins_band .
During a day of shooting a scene that involved all members of the band traveling in a car together, one of the members of the band had an unexpected obligation come up that forced him to leave the shoot early… so we had to find a way to shoot a scene in the vehicle that included all members of the band traveling in a car and talking to eachother without showing that there was a member missing.
The workaround was a quick 5 minute, on-the-fly rewrite where the other members just force him into the back of the truck while they ride comfortably up front, talking freely among themselves. Right after the scene, he was able to leave and we rewrote the next bit to accommodate.😂

“Burn It Down” was shot in a warehouse in Kalkaska, Michigan. The video was made possible with the help of some incredible volunteers and businesses in the area who donated their time (and catering services) to make this a great overall experience for the cast and crew!

I was recently tasked by a company to make some online video content for instructions on playing some the card and board games they make/develop.
There’s about 10 or so in the bank right now, but many of them have yet to go public. Here’s one that I got to make featuring my niece, though!

“In Seeking May You Find” - Ft. Austin Minard from Firefly Tapestry’s “Valediction”
It’s nearly impossible to articulate just exactly what I was up to this past week.
But to attempt in 4 paragraphs or less, I was tasked by Firefly Tapestry (AKA Emma Sheridan) with running tech (lights, sounds, etc) and shooting post-show content for an immersive theater experience in the middle of ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE just a few tens of miles away from Area 51.
While this video doesn’t fully capture what the experience was like from the creator’s perspective, I was able to cobble together some scripted shots as well as some behind-the-scenes clips of the guests’ experience.

Receptions are *such* a freeing experience as a cinematographer, because there's typically nothing but JOY in the room. It's so easy to love what I do in these moments because my job is *literally* to just capture people having a straight up good time. What's not to love?
