“With the start of the spring semester, the countdown to Rowan’s annual spring festival “Hollybash” is on. ‘Hollybash’ is an event where Hollybush Green gets turned into a huge festival ground, with food trucks, carnival rides, and fun activities for Glassboro to enjoy.
The festival will take place on April 25, 2025. Various local performers will perform throughout the day, and when the sun goes down, a big celebrity artist will give a special performance just for Rowan. In the past, Hollybash has welcomed artists such as Tori Kelly, Noah Cyrus, and Andy Grammer. This year promises to deliver.”-Mattie Mac Kay( )

“For college students, political news is everywhere. They see it through commercials on TV, on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, or maybe they even hear it in passing on campus. There’s no completely escaping it, and though it isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it becomes a major issue when it’s all they hear.” -Christopher Otto ()

“Moving to a completely new and unfamiliar place, with a completely different culture, mentality, and life. The responsibility to quickly adapt to life in a new environment, study and work in your second or even third language, try to do everything right and not make mistakes, and at the same time find time for a social life. Calling your family and friends on a video call, trying to find a suitable time depending on the time difference between your homeland and the country you are in. Talking to them, smiling and feigning that everything is fine, only to cry after the call is over, as you are unable to tell them that it’s difficult for you here since coming here was your choice in the first place. Loneliness for quite a long time, because making friends in a new, completely unfamiliar environment is not so easy, especially when many have known each other for a long time. While it may seem exaggerated, it’s a common experience for many.” - Aruzhan Yessengeldy()

“During a nationwide search to fill the new position, the search committee sent a message to Veilleux, who was working at Central Michigan University. ‘Our president was going to be leaving soon, so I was really busy and ignored the email or LinkedIn message,’ said Veilleux. ‘And then the person called me and was like, Okay, maybe I should take the call. We’ll see what they have to say.’” - John Veilleux, Chief Marketing Officer at Rowan University

“After wrapping up the regular season, Rowan men’s swimming will now turn their attention towards the second annual New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Swimming & Diving Championships, taking place at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Virginia from Feb. 13-16.
At last year’s conference championship meet, Rowan finished third, directly behind TCNJ and Merchant Marine. Based on his observations this season, head coach Brad Bowser has solidified his thoughts on how his team stacks up with the rest of the conference.” -Dakota Eastman ()

“The truth is, things don’t always go as planned. Maybe you studied law to become a lawyer, but can’t pass the bar. Maybe you do become a lawyer and realize this is not the job for you. Maybe you wanted to pursue teaching, but can’t pass the praxis exam. Careers are not linear for a majority of people.” - The Whit Staff

“Everyone has their own reasons for why some months are worse than others. It could be because school starts at a certain time, or the stress of finals creeping in right before the summer, or even going through something at a certain time that you just want to leave in the past. Now that my least favorite month is over, let me tell you why some people really start their new year from scratch in February.”

“‘I knew I wanted to come out strong,’ said Herlihy. ‘It was not a stress on my mind, I knew I was going to get it today or Saturday. I wanted to get it at home, but it was not something I felt had to do because that would have stressed me out. I started off strong and thought let’s get it.’” - Kate Herlihy

“The idea of changing my typical commuter schedule may be a bit scary, but I know that being accustomed to change will help me in my future career as a journalist. While I spend my weeks dedicated to covering the stories on our campus, not being a resident has always made me feel set back from reporting on as many stories as I truly want to. With this move, I’m excited and determined to tell the stories of our Rowan community.’- Marchella Mazzoni

“‘We’ve tried to break down the Campbell Libraries, as more than just a physical quiet study space. It is all of these different things. It’s borrowing books, getting research help, and getting access to our electronic collections,’ said Brandow. ‘It’s our course reserves. It’s a quiet study. It’s a group study. It’s computers and printers. So, we’ve tried to kind of delineate all of these things and help our current students understand what’s the status.’” - Elliot Brandow, Director of Campbell Library

“As someone who is currently living with a pet in college (my bearded dragon Merlin), it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming to not only take care of myself but also another living thing. The truth is, in the long run, having my best friend at college has been a better coping mechanism than anything I could have asked for. While to someone who does not have experience with a pet in college, it may either sound like a dream or nightmare, there are some real-life pros and cons to consider when bringing a pet to school.” - Hayden Fugee

“Rowan stormed out to a quick 7-0 lead behind two layups courtesy of Khalif Meares and a three-pointer from Brycen Williams. Williams led the Profs in scoring with 17 points on the day, shooting 4-for-8 from beyond the arc. ‘Teammates put me in good positions to let me score,’ said Williams. ‘I was able to knock them down, stay consistent throughout the game, and stay ready to score.’” - Brycen Williams ()
