In August 2024, the housing market saw the biggest price cuts in five years, with nearly 20% of homes having their prices reduced. This change, driven by high mortgage rates, which has given buyers more choices and power to negotiate. The number of homes for sale has increased by over a third from last year. With mortgage rates dropping and potentially going lower, we might see even more homes for sale soon!

🔥 It's fire safety week 🔥 If you didn't know, I was a fireman here in Arizona for 12 years before I shifted into my real estate career! Fires can occur unexpectedly, and having a plan not only safeguards your home but also protects your loved ones, giving you peace of mind.

How To Make A Fire Safety Plan

1. Install and Check Smoke Detectors: Smoke alarms should be installed on every level of your home, especially near sleeping areas. Test them monthly and replace batteries annually to keep them in working order.

2. Map Out Escape Routes: Identify at least two exits from each room and ensure they are accessible. Teach family members these routes and keep them free of obstructions.

3. Designate a Safe Meeting Spot: Choose a location a safe distance from your home where everyone can gather after escaping. This spot should be easy to remember and away from emergency response activities.

4. Make Sure You Have Fire Extinguishers: Place fire extinguishers in key areas such as the kitchen, garage, and near fireplaces. Make sure everyone knows how to use them correctly.

5. Educate About Fire Hazards: Discuss common fire hazards and preventative measures with your family, like not overloading electrical outlets and keeping flammable objects away from heat sources.
