Would just like to bring this as a reminder as we’ve already seen a few power flashes in the valley

Red Flag situations exist in our district despite it being December. Please refrain from being a spark today. Wind and low RH’s would cause any fire that starts to grow rapidly. Fighting fire in these conditions becomes difficult. Hope everyone stays safe today.

If you wish to gather more information, please follow the National Weather Service Cheyenne’s page.

Urgent! The SPC has now placed the Colorado Front Range and Southeast Wyoming under a extreme fire risk. In addition both Boulder and Cheyenne NWS offices have issued PDS(Particularly Dangerous Situation) fire warnings. Wind gusts up to 90 mph, combined with extremely low humidity values, and abundant dry fuel will set the stage for explosive fire development.
Please stay aware and prepared

A testament to how powerful this system was. And it's not over
