Oh Luca, you’re breaking our hearts bud… 💔

Every time you walk into Luca’s ward, this is what you see. He plops his perfect little paws up on the bars to greet you with the saddest eyes ever. He doesn’t even make a peep, he just gives you this hopeful look that seems to say, “Is it my turn yet?”

Luca has had quite the life so far. He first arrived in March after being found chained up with an embedded collar. He was in rough shape and needed immediate medical care, which he received here from our vet team. We don’t know the full extent of what this dog has been through, but what we do know is that he is no stranger to neglect, abandonment, mistreatment, and heartache.

Luca is still young and has so much life left to live. He is around 3 years old and 51 pounds. He does need to be the only dog in the home, most likely due to past trauma. He is looking for a home where he can be your one and only and finally experience unconditional love and safety. He is a high energy, excitable boy who needs an active home. He would be most comfortable around older children.

Luca is great with people and such a special soul. He is a unique mix and so beautiful. Everybody who meets him falls in love. He will bring so much happiness and adventure to his future adopter.

Please help us share this boy. He just needs a chance. ❤️‍🩹
