Dear Educators:

I know, I know. It's been forever. When I first embarked on this endeavor, I had no clue how long it would take to create a boutique publishing company. Now I do. A long time, lol! But finally, we're ready to go.

We are accepting play submissions from elementary through high school theatre educators, so please send us the plays you’ve written for your classes and programs. If you have taken an original show to competition, we’d definitely love to read that!

Also, for the entire month of May, we are offering free perusals from the two authors we have currently. (Hey, we’re in our infancy. We know we will grow exponentially.) Feel free to go to the website, look at the synopses, and email [email protected] with the names of the plays you would like to peruse. Don’t try to put them in a cart because we don’t want to charge you!

I can’t wait to see where we go. I know you are all tired of fighting publishing companies for permission to cut, etc. Now, you won’t have to, because the cutting permissions are actually in the manuscripts themselves. You’re also going to save money, especially on large cast plays, because you don’t have to buy a book for each actor. You’ll be able to print your .pdf for one set price.

This company will grow and adapt as we go. We’re always looking for ideas to make your job as directors and producers easy, so if you have them, please feel free to email us!

Thank you for your patience. Our goal is 100 playwrights over the space of the next five years. Again, we don’t want to be the biggest publishing company out there. We want to be the one educational directors check first, because we are the easiest to work with.

Sincerely,

Cliff McClelland

Oscar Wilde’s birthday is coming up October 16th. He was one of the most diverse writers in history, moving between his most popular play of manners, “The Importance of Being Earnest,” and his dark novel, “The Picture of Dorian Gray.” Sadly, he was arrested for a homosexual act, which led to a sensationalized trial that would have fit perfectly on Court-TV. He was imprisoned, then died of meningitis at the age of 46. We wonder what brilliant works could have been contrived for the stage had it not been for the accepted homophobic persecution in England (and most everywhere else) at the turn of the 20th century. If you would like a good laugh, check out some of Wilde’s greatest insults and witticisms at
