"The best way out is always through." ~Robert Frost.
This quote really resonates with me. This journey as a voiceover artist and business owner isn't always a piece of cake. Personal and spiritual growth are often challenging- sometimes downright hard. And sometimes, frankly, it can be tempting to give up. I've found, though, that there is growth in PERSEVERING through challenges.
We learn and grow from working through hard things. It develops character, challenges us to research and learn new things & to be creative, & forces us to dig deep & solidify our beliefs, our goals, & our vision.
Some of the most intelligent minds in history only succeeded because they persevered. Thomas Edison said,
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” And from Albert Einstein, “It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”
We find the encouragement to persevere in scripture as well.
In Romans, Paul says, "Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. AND PATIENT ENDURANCE WILL REFINE OUR CHARACTER, and proven character leads us back to HOPE. And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!"
Romans 5:3-5 TPT
And in the book of James, we read: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. LET PERSEVERENCE FINISH ITS WORK SO THAT YOU MAY BE MATURE AND COMPLETE, NOT LACKING ANYTHING."
James 1:2-4 NIV
*What challenge are you facing today? Are you feeling like giving up? May I encourage you to lift up your head, square your shoulders, and walk through it - perhaps slowly, and with small steps, but determined to move forward! And remember this: persevering sometimes requires us to be humble and brave enough to ask for help rather than simply "powering through" on our own.
