Dreezy: “Everyday in my life… I’m in a male dominant industry so I have to be strong and I gotta stand on my word and on my principles. You gotta let people know that you know your worth.”

DSRPT.: Women are taking over right now why do you think that is?

Dreezy: “I think people are starting to realize it’s possible now…It’s dope seeing music evolving. The girls popping they sh*t right now…and they staying consistent. I think we forcing our way through the door and not letting people tell us no.

DSRPT.: Tell us about a time where you had to be more dominant?
Siobhan: “DJing. My career. When I first started DJing I was one of few women DJ’s, there wasn’t a lot of us then. Around like 2012, that’s when I first started DJing so there were barely any girls and I was always on the lineup full of men. I feel like I’ve built a lot of like masculine energy within what I do.”
DSRPT.: What advice can you give someone who’s trying to step into their own power?
Siobhan: “Being patient and being patient with yourself as well. Every single step you take is of importance whether it’s like small, big or just a little inkling. That little inkling or thing or that small thing contributes to the goal.”

The team would like to thank each and every one of you for taking time out of your day to drive from all sides of LA to come to our pop-up…And not only did you all show up in presence, but you purchased ample products and when I say that s**t means the world to us, it brought literal tears to my eyes. DSRPT.: What are some qualities that make you a boss?

AMAAL: I realized truly what makes me a boss is that I wanna have a team around me and I wanna empower everybody to be able to feel as important and that they’re valid…I’m able to see where I’m missing and what I am unable to do. I’m not capable of everything and I think as a boss you have to recognize that you can’t do it all by yourself. You need an amazing team of people around you that are going to balance out the qualities that you lack.

Are there any artists or genres that have influenced your musical style?
A: (Hands down) R&B, but I feel like the source of r&b is gospel music. It definitely came from that background. So those artists you know, Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp. The list can go on. I especially am a big fan of a lot of women artists/singers. They inspire me the most so I gravitate towards them. Something about a woman's texture when she sings, I feel like it's the sweetest thing. From Whitney to Brandy to Mariah Carey to Anita Baker.
