Celebrating milestones:
- 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of 1926, the 110th anniversary of 1916, and the 120th anniversary of 1906. Weโll include select recordings from each of these years.
Rare and historic gems:
- Early, commercially unsuccessful attempts from the late 1920s and 1930s to introduce long-playing records.
- A 1924 recording by an early Texas jazz band, captured during OKeh Recordsโ field trip to Dallasโthe first commercial recordings ever made in Texas.
- An extremely rare surviving fragment of a 1929 syndicated musical radio program.
- An excerpt from our very first New Year's broadcast 20 years ago featuring the late Eddie The Collector.
Plus, lots of great 1920s and 1930s recordings that have not yet made their way into Radio Dismukeโs regular playlist.
