Today our Police Department held an appreciation lunch for support staff. It's a great day to see their hard work recognized and the perfect weather for a bowl of soup!

We are excited to announce our New Teacher of the Year, Ms. Cynthia Hawk! Ms. Hawk is not new to OHS, having served in our ESE classrooms before becoming a teacher. She is an asset to our team and is genuinely devoted to our students.

Carol Marker, a dedicated athlete from Okeechobee, is gearing up to compete for her 3rd consecutive National Title at the "SONA" Special Olympics North America tournament this weekend in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Marker expressed her gratitude to the community for their generous donations that have made her trip possible. She also extended her thanks to the local community for the unwavering support they have shown her throughout her athletic journey.

"I would like to thank everyone in Okeechobee who has donated to make this trip possible, and I am truly grateful for the support shown by the community," Marker stated. "I promise to give it my all and represent Okeechobee and the state of Florida to the best of my abilities."

Marker's commitment and determination have been an inspiration to many in the community, and her upcoming competition is eagerly anticipated. Okeechobee stands behind Marker as she prepares to showcase her skills and sportsmanship at the national level.
