One of the most popular things to do while visiting the Bahamas is to take a swim with the pigs tour.
They are cute, you get to feed them and swim in the pristine waters with the little guys all while taking insta-worthy photos. But in reality, it is a very small strip of beach, it's very crowded and everyone is trying to get their own photos, you are only allowed one small cup of fruit to feed them, and they poop!
So is it worth it?
I think so! I am a huge animal lover and any animal interaction I can get, I am 100% on board. The second our boat pulled up and I spotted the little piggies frolicking on the beach, I could not contain my excitement. They are so cute and come right up to you, and it literally made my trip!
On top of that, the excursions you book are typically full or half day tours, so they include island hopping, snorkeling, more wildlife viewing, etc, so more than just a bit of time with the pigs!
** Tip - We found that booking through tour guides or groups on the island was super expensive, so I def recommend booking through a 3rd party site to save some money.

Even if you're not staying at the hotel, I recommend a visit! The Guitar at the Hardrock is really a beautiful property to wander. It's so aesthetic, the decor is en pointe, and the fountain inside has daily shows.
Grab a bite at one of the many restaurants, catch some live music or a drink at one of the lounges, party at the day or nightclub with rotating DJs, go shopping, catch a live show at the concert venue.
Be sure to stay for nightly light shows outside right on the side of the mirrored windows of the guitar to classic rock music.
**PSA: I was sad to learn they are no longer offering day passes for the pool.

Beetle House Los Angeles is the ultimate dining experience for horror, Halloween and Tim Burton lovers. The themed restaurant immerses you in the twisted and haunted worlds of Tim Burton and Edgar Allen Poe, with candlelit corners and movie themed decor everywhere you look.
Dinner is $65 for a 3 course meal, all dishes themed of course. While you dine, you will enjoy ongoing performances and personal visits to your table from characters out of Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride and more. Reservations are recommended for dinner, but you can also stop in for a smoky drink at the bar.
This restaurant began as a pop-up but quickly became so popular it is now a permanent LA fixture.
There is also a location in New York City for all the east coasters!
I am a huge fan and definitely recommend for a fun and unique experience.

Did you know you can hop on the train from Lucerne and be in the Alps in about 45 minutes? Mount Titlus is an easy and scenic day trip you can take from the city, and it feels like you are in a completely different world.
Take a cable car up the mountain, and once at the top, you will find many fun winter activities to enjoy. You can take a scenic ride on a ski lift, go tubing, walk across a suspension bridge for unending views of the snow covered mountain, walk through a (man-made) ice cave, or my favourite - play in the snow!

The city of Lucerne is an absolute gem, complete with history, culture, cuisine and breathtaking views. On clear days, you can spot the snowy alps surrounding the city.
I'd recommend three days in this beautiful city, the perfect amount of time to see the sights and soak up the culture. Lucerne is very walkable, and the perfect distance for day trips to the alps.
Here's my recommended itinerary:
🌉 Stroll on Chapel Bridge, where you will get picturesque views of the water tower and old town.
⛪ Wander through the charming cobblestone streets of Old Town, or Alstadt, where you can view the medieval architecture, visit local shops and grab a bite at the local restaurants.
🧱 Visit Musegg Wall to learn some of the history of the city. You can walk along the 800 metre wall and through the towers to enjoy impressive panoramic views of the city.
🦁 Visit the Lucerne Lion monument, a sculpture carved right into a cliff representing lives lost in the French Revolution.
🦢 Take a boat trip on Lake Lucerne, where you can see more of the Swiss countryside (think a landscape right out of "Heidi").
🍻 Enjoy drinks or Swiss cuisine at one of the many lakeside restaurants.
🍀One of our personal favorite spots - visit the local Irish bar for great vibes and fun.
🫕 And now an unpopular opinion - I feel like the fondue, a well known Swiss specialty, is kind of overrated. It is quite pricey here, for cheese and bread. What's your opinion??
Instead, I would recommend trying the raclette, another popular cheesy Swiss dish!

Craft Beer Paradise: Exploring the Breweries of St. Pete, Fort Lauderdale
Save for your trip to St. Pete!
St. Petersburg, Florida is well known as a craft beer lover's paradise in recent years. This vibrant city on Florida's Gulf Coast offers much more than just beautiful beaches and sunny weather; it's also home to a thriving craft beer scene. With an abundance of breweries throughout the city, St. Pete has become a must-visit destination for beer enthusiasts.
St. Pete is my favourite Florida city, and we always try to visit new breweries during each trip, as well as return to some of our favs. Shown here are:
Bayboro Brewing Co. - We really liked this veteran-owned local brewery. We tried some of the local crafts while enjoying the live band and taking in the local artwork lining the walls. The interior is large but there is also a large dog-friendly outdoor beer garden as well.
If I Brewed the World - Not my favourite. The brewery was very small and aside from some board games(which most breweries offer) and a cool mural out front, there was really nothing to capture my attention inside. They DID offer some fun beer flavors, including Butterbeer, Berry Crunch, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Pinella's Ale House (P.A.W.) - Dog themed brewery with a unique beer list offering 30+ uniquely named and flavored beers and ciders. P.A.W. hosts weekly and monthly animal charity events and adoption events (the first time I visited here, I came THISCLOSE to coming home with a new dog). This brewery is my personal favorite - dogs and beer - what more could you ask for!
Cage Brewing - This brewery was a surprise - from the outside, it looks very small and simple. You walk into a very small room with a bar and a couple of tables. However, walk through the double doors and there is an entire back taproom, which is full of pinball machines, olds school video games, cornhole, foosball, etc. And from there, walk out into a HUGE dog friendly outdoor area with tables, a large grass
Obsessed with this gorgeous oceanfront resort in Koh Tao, Ban's Diving Resort.
We paid $29 a night for our stay, including a daily rooftop breakfast overlooking the ocean.

You're about to take one of the most incredible trips to one of the most incredible places. But here's a few things to do (and pack!) before you go:
💰 Bring lots of cash- a lot of places in Thailand do not accept credit cards so be prepared to mostly be paying in cash during your travels. While you can always exchange money once you get there, I like to order baht through my bank and bring a bit with me - after 20 hours of travel, the last thing you want to worry about off the plane is exchanging money.
🚗 Download Grab app. It's like Uber in Thailand. You can use it on the main land and some of the islands. It's very handy and worth it even just to help price compare for your transportation options.
👟 Most restaurants and business and all temples request that you remove shoes before entering. Be sure to pack shoes that are easy to slip on and off frequently.
🧳Pack more than you think you'll need - believe me! This is not the trip to pack light. I thought since we would be mainly on the islands, I would mostly need to pack a few bathing suits and sundresses. However, it is so incredibly humid, I guarantee you will have a few outfit changes a day. Be prepared!
👗If you are planning to visit any temples (and you definitely should!), be sure to pack appropriate attire to enter - remember covered knees and shoulders.
🦟Mosquito repellent is a must! However, I actually recommend you buy it there! I absolutely HATE insect repellent - it's smelly, sticky and doesn't work that well. However, at any drugstore or market, you can buy citronella spray or ointment. It's so lightweight you don't feel it on your skin and I can honestly say we didn't get any bites once we discovered it. We live in Florida so stocked up for home as well.
🐘If you are planning to visiting with the local wildlife, please make sure to do your research before you travel to find reputable and ethical sanctuaries.

We rented a motorbike and drove all around Koh Samui. As we got out of the city, we kept turning down small little roads to see where we would end up. This amazing spot we stumbled across had bungalows overlooking the ocean, a beach bar, a private beach and a feeling of complete tranquility. We spent the most incredible afternoon here and never would have found it if we hadn't taken a chance exploring the unknown.

My best tips I've learned over the years to help save:
1 - Book during holiday sales - Black Friday, Labor Day, Mother's day - there are always holiday sales offering discounts on flights and hotel stays. Last year, we booked a 10 day cruise to South America on a Memorial day sale with @royalcaribeancruises for only $400! 🤯
2 - Clear your browser cookies or use private browsing mode - Many travel websites track your browsing history and inflate prices based on your searches. To avoid this, clear your browser cookies or use private browsing mode when searching for flights or accommodations.
3 - Use your miles credit cards to pay for everyday purchases and accumulate money that can be applied to travel purchases. Additionally, sign up for airline and hotel loyalty programs to gain access to exclusive discounts, perks, and rewards, as well as accumulate points or miles for future bookings.
4 - Compare prices on multiple websites, including third party and direct airline or hotel websites, to ensure you're getting the best possible price. Each website may have different deals, discounts, or promotions. For flights, I use justfly.com and skyscanner.com to get an idea of the best options and price compare. I then go to the specific airline website to see if I can get the same deal - this enables you to use your loyalty number for the airline to accumulate travel miles. For hotels, I use trivago.com and agoda.com. Once you create an account, the website will email you deals and discount alerts like flash sales.
5 - Book flights and accommodations separately and log into websites via a cashback site. Often booking flights and accommodations separately can be more cost-effective than purchasing a package deal, although it's always a good idea to explore both options.The cashback website I use is topcashback.com. By using this website you get a set percentage cashback on bookings you make.

Here are some of the best sights to see during your visit:
1- Denali National Park - Home to the highest peak in North America, Denali is a must-see for any nature lover. You can explore on foot, by bike or take a guided tour. Don't forget your camera - you will probably see moose, eagles and maybe even bears!
2- Glacier Bay National Park - This UNESCO World Heritage site hosts some of the world's most impressive glaciers, which you can see up close on a tour or even kayak.
3- Kenai Fjords National Park - Hop on a boat tour to see glaciers, fjords, and whales, otters and sea lions.
4- Exit Glacier - take a short, scenic hike through the mountains and get to stand right beside a glacier! It's incredible being that close!
5- Mendenhall Glacier - Located just outside of Juneau, this glacier is easily accessible and offers breathtaking panoramic views.
6- The Northern Lights - If you visit during winter, you may be able witness the spectacular Aurora Borealis. I have not had this opportunity yet, but am dying to see the northern lights some day.
Alaska truly is a nature lover's paradise, and these are just a few of the incredible sights to see! I visited via cruise ship, which I thoroughly enjoyed because we got to see many different areas we might have otherwise not stopped in. We extended our trip after we docked, took a train to Anchorage and then visited Denali! This was truly one of my favorite US holidays.

Adventures with Elephants is an elephant rescue located in Bela Bela right next to Zebula Spa and Golf Estate. They offer elephant encounters where guests can interact with and learn about the personalities and behaviours of these beautiful and intelligent animals. The health and well being of the elephants is a priority here, and the rescued elephants live together on a large reserve with other natural African wildlife. With the elephant population drastically decreasing due to illegal poaching and human habitation, one of the main goals of Adventures with Elephants is to educate people and encourage us to help maintain the elephant population in whatever small way we can. This was truly an amazing and touching experience and I would 100% recommend.
