Please read! Emmalyn not only suffers at her very young age with my excruciating disease, Arachnoidits, but also from EDS and Chiari. She is in a lot of pain and went in for surgery just to turn around and have a spinal cord leak. She & her family are asking for help. She had to go to NC, where her Dr is, and have surgery again to fix the leak. This has put incredible financial strain on this family.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month!
Never feel alone. There is always help for you. Trust me. I am a survivor of Domestic Violence, more than once in my life. Unfortunately, when I was being abused by my own fathers hands as a very small child and for many years, too long by the hands of my ex boyfriend.
I was so "in love" & believed that it was my fault. It was always my fault so he put his hands on me to make me understand what I did wrong. Then, as I curled up and cried and hid my scars and broken bones from everyone, my job, my family and friends....he always was able to say sorry and I took him back. He wore me down by saying nobody would want me, and locked me outside of my home at night when I was "bad" to sleep on the stairs. I kept taking him back. Until, it just wore me absolutely the hell down. He scared the he** out of me. I started doing things that were not ok. I became a shell of the person I used to be. My friends really started to notice and thank God because it gave me the most courage to start talking about what was going on instead of protecting him. Long story later....many sad and unfortunate details left out... The best detail.... I FINALLY LEFT HIM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!
NO, IT WAS NOT EASY. BUT I DID IT. I escaped and got a five year restraining order on him. He tried for awhile to come back. I stayed strong. It took me years of therapy to get through and that is ok. Point of this story... if you're in a Domestic Violent relationship....GET OUT. IF YOU NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO
