Six teams woke up 1-0 this week as region play heated up. NINE teams lit up the scoreboard with at least 30 points and we've just about reached the midpoint of the season. Stay tuned for full coverage!
St. Michael explodes for homecoming win over Escambia County 📸🔺🔥5️⃣
The Cardinals debuted some new uniforms and christened them with a 49-12 win to improve the program's best start to a season. St. Michael sophomore quarterback Gunner Rivers threw a pair of touchdown passes each to juniors Tucker Tomlinson and Brody Jones as Noah Moss registered a first-half hat trick with three rushing touchdowns. The Cardinals improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Class 4A Region 1 heading into a bye week with 4-1 Jackson on the other side.

The Bayside Academy Admirals have been having plenty of fun on their four-game win streak and celebrated at home Friday night with a 14-0 shutout of Flomaton. Bayside Academy junior Billy Neill was all over the field Friday night, making tackles from sideline to sideline. But the Admirals' all-state linebacker also came up big on the other side of the ball with two touchdown runs which proved to be the deciding factor to extend a winning streak. At halftime, Bayside Academy leads Flomaton 7-0 thanks in part to this 5-yard touchdown run from Billy Neill. The Admirals cashed in on a Noah Cain interception to hit pay dirt. The highest-ranked volleyball coach on MaxPreps’ list of the top 100 greatest high school sports coaches of all-time included the leader of the Bayside Academy Admirals’ program for the last 34 years. Ann Schilling was Alabama's lone representative and checked in at No. 17 overall on the national list.
When MaxPreps revealed its list of the top 100 greatest high school sports coaches of all-time list, Alabama’s lone representative has led a program on the Eastern Shore of Baldwin County since 1987.
A host of local athletes have made a splash early in the college football season, even as true freshmen. Daphne went on the road and made a statement in the Class 7A Region 1 playoff picture with a 36-14 win over the Foley Lions. Jaylyn Thibodeaux threw first-half touchdowns to Jaecyn Myles and Labrayln Coleman before Maddox Balius returned a fumble 65 yards for a score. Next week, Daphne plays Baker at home and Foley hosts MGM.

Fairhope explodes past Davidson 🏈🏴☠️💥
Junior Bryon Martin led the big-play category with an 80-yard touchdown catch and a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Andres Hunt was also on the receiving end of a 64-yard scoring connection from Jackson Robertson.

The Cardinals are 4-0 for the first time in program history as Gunner Rivers went for 400 passing yards and 4 touchdowns to Tucker Tomlinson. Noah Moss scored on the ground and through the air to complement a stout defensive effort. Patricio Garcia also connected on a 47-yard field goal as St. Michael improved to 2-0 in Class 4A Region 1.

Nehemiah Hixon hauls in another INSANE touchdown catch from Aaden Shamburger and Spanish Fort takes a 14-0 lead over Baldwin County into the halftime break. This time, the junior quarterback rolled away from pressure and dropped a dime for Hixon in the front corner of the end zone with 17.2 left in the second quarter. The Tigers will receive the second-half kickoff.
And Spanish Fort has already struck! Nehemiah Hixon with an INSANE one-handed grab from Aaden Shamburger on the Toros’ first possession. Spanish Fort takes a 7-0 lead over Baldwin County with 7:10 left in the first with the rain picking up!

Cooper Kurth takes the lead back for St. Michael, 20-19 over John Carroll, with 5:39 left in regulation! Gunner Rivers looked off the safety then hit the receiver in stride for a 34-yard score
Gunner Rivers thunders in for a 1-yard score that gives St. Michael a 14-13 lead over John Carroll with 4:30 left in the third. The Cardinals put together a 7-play drive to cash in on a turnover on downs. Kamarjay Lavoie had a big 31-yard run that got St. Michael to the doorstep
Brody Jones hauled in a 40-yard connection from Gunner Rivers to record St. Michael’s first regular-season touchdown in the on-campus stadium. This was the first play after the Cardinals recovered a muffed punt and the hosts are set to receive the second-half kickoff trailing 13-7.
