🎣 THREE ponds will get 2,700 rainbow trout in Flower Mound on Monday, 12/2.

🐟 1,200 to Rheudasil Park
🐟 500 to Heritage Park
🐟 1,000 to Leonard and Helen Johns Community Park

Exact times are unavailable, but it usually happens between 8am and 2pm...worth a drive by if you're in the area, it's probably a show.

Under 17? You don't need a fishing license to reel one in, but there's a limit of 5/day.

Rainbow trout are NOT native to Texas. In 1966, began stocking rainbow trout in the tailrace areas of the Guadalupe River below Canyon Dam.

It is one of the state’s most popular programs. Trout don’t do well in water warmer than 70°F. Few places in Texas offer year-round habitat, but there are many areas where trout can thrive during the cool winter months, and our ponds are one of them!

❤️ Cold Stone Creamery has a sign up and will be located on the south side of Flower Mound on FM 2499.

Ever since DQ closed the south side of town has only had Culver’s, Handel’s, Sonic, Baskin Robbins, Marble Slab, Epic Gelato and wait this seems like a lot of places to get ice cream in Flower Mound. Seems like residents here can’t get enough?

🇫🇷🥖 We sure miss DQ and those dipped cones, but trading it for a pastry shop seems like a fair trade?

is a French-inspired bakery with South Korean roots and will opening in the old DQ building, tucked behind Walgreen’s at 3040 and 2499.

We got a LOT of excited people telling us this was a big win, so we may have to make a field trip to Lewisville location to get a sneak peek.

Whole cake prices start with a 4 or 5, so they’re definitely not cheap but holy moly look how pretty they are.

They’ll be serving:

✨ Coffees

✨ Savory pastries

✨ Sweet pastries

This seems like the perfect place to get a little treat after folding laundry.

It opened in 2008 and it’s time to think about updating/expanding, the town has changed a lot in 16 years.

We are likely to get a bond to vote on in the spring and one of the proposed projects is a major update/expansion of the CAC.

WHAT WOULD BE NEW?

✨ Indoor turf field

✨ One of those cool indoor pool water park areas other towns have (Grapevine has a really good one)

✨ A long list of renovations: locker rooms, weight areas, etc

✨ Shaded rooftop fitness turf area

✨ More group class/fitness studios

✨ Expanded tot drop

There are slides for each project, which include:

🎀 Parks improvements at Leonard and Helen Johns, Prairie Trail, Twin Coves, and Chinn Chapel

🎀 Trails improvements in 5 locations

🎀West-side services including that 24/7 library kiosk

🎀 And street reconstruction, which is so boring but probably necessary

🚗🚿 Coming soon: Landshark Car Wash, on 2499 right by the hospital. Swipe for pricing!

✨ The idea is you stay in the car for the wash part (the best part according to any kid), but then after it’s DIY. You dry the car, vacuum, etc.

This was approved by Council last summer, so it’s been in the works for a while.

⚽️ $1.3 million to convert grass soccer fields to synthetic turf at Chinn Chapel Park?

These soccer fields at FM 407 and Chinn Chapel are on the far north side of Flower Mound across from . And, we have to admit these fields are prone to standing water and this feels like a good idea.

The plan calls for added drainage, goal posts to accommodate multiple sports, and new fencing.

This is still at the PROPOSAL stage and the Blue Ribbon Board is having several Open House events to gather community feedback.

There are *several* projects being considered, including:

📚 Automatic Library Kiosk
🚒 West Side Fire Station 6
🏃‍♀️CAC remodel (this is the spiciest and most expensive one - almost $50 million)
