Response Codes:
The most commonly used response codes are:
CODE 1: Non-emergency response. No lights or siren, following traffic laws. CODE 2: Moderately fast. Lights and siren used for intersections and/or heavy traffic. CODE 3: Emergency response. Fast response. Some Paramedic/EMS agencies use Priority terms, which run in the opposite of code responses. Priority 1 - Critical
Priority 2 - Emergency
Priority 3 - Non-Emergency
