• Palouse Falls •
In Southeast Washington, in the middle of nowhere (literally), you’ll find Palouse Falls State Park. The drive to this park is a gravel road, but once you arrive you’ll see a beautiful 200 foot waterfall in what looks like a mini Grand Canyon! A fun fact about this waterfall? On February 12, 2014, the Washington House of Representatives passed HB 2119 unanimously to make Palouse Falls the official state waterfall in Washington. The proposal for the bill originated when a group of elementary school students in the nearby town of Washtucna lobbied the state legislature. If you’re ever in Southeast Washington, and think there’s not much to see, don’t be afraid to explore and find the beauty within the cracks 📸.

To start this post off, if you haven’t been to the Columbia River Gorge, do yourself a favor and take a trip out here to the Pacific Northwest. Everywhere you look there is one beautiful spot after another, including Oregon’s tallest waterfall. Multnomah Falls stands at 620’ and has over 2 million visitors each year. Also, there’s a restaurant at the bottom so you can eat with a view! 📸

The Love of Photography

It started when I was 13 years old. I had just quit playing baseball and I felt empty inside. I no longer had a passion that filled me with joy every day.. So I asked myself, what do you love? This resulted in a lot of self reflecting, and I came to the conclusion of two things. I really enjoyed art & I was a super nerd with electronics. So... digital art?

The following week my back tire on my bicycle had gone flat, and my family didn’t own a pump.. So I walked over to my neighbor Brian’s house to ask him if I could use his. Brian was/is a chemist at Eli Lilly and liked to take photos on the side. So when I was in his garage pumping up my bike tire, I asked him what he knew about photography. Three hours later, I was still in his garage talking to him about cameras. It was game over after that!

That entire Summer/Fall my 13 year old lanky self mowed lawns for people in the neighborhood to save up for my very first camera, a Nikon D80. I still remember the doorbell ringing when the UPS driver dropped it off. I had never felt so much joy in my life.

15 years later I have traveled all over the country taking photos, shooting weddings and capturing special moments. I have also dove into the art of videography and challenging my creative side even further! I love using my cameras to capture special moments more than I ever have, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!
