This weekend we celebrated the life of my Auntie Marilyn! Growing up I always thought her stubborn, snarky attitude was the best.

I remember one summer visiting her in Washington State during the summer and we went to the local restaurant she and my uncle frequent. I was probably 12 and I asked the server for chocolate milk. They said they didn’t serve chocolate milk, and Auntie stopped the server before the end of their sentence gave them a $10 bill, and told them to run across the street to the grocery store to get some Nestlé, and sure as s**t they did! The next night having supper at her house I told her that the Chicago Bulls were gonna beat the Seattle SuperSonics in the NBA Finals. She gave both my brothers ice cream sandwiches for dessert and not me. 😂

Flash forward to being an adult and my mom passing away, Auntie stepped up to fill the void and help me navigate and encourage me and my crazy ideas. Running was my escape and she was there for my first full marathon and to see me finish my run across South Dakota!

Love and miss you Auntie Marilyn!
