It's been a crazy busy holiday season getting all our client photos and reels set for the next few weeks! I've been having fun shooting in different locations and themed content. Here is your post to remind you to SHOP LOCAL - SHOP SMALL🥰

This shoot was with the ladies from Luscious Boutique in Grand Forks, at Eden & Co. - two places to check out before the end of this year!

I'm going to be honest -- what I love best about my job is when I'm so busy helping my clients with their social media, I don't have time for my own. Priorities, right? And my clients are it, in my book! I've been a busy photog with shoots nearly every day...whew!

I love this part where I get to share some shots from a recent shoot with a new client. Meet .roo owned by the delightful and beautiful, -- who really knows the market when it comes to all things maternity and kiddos! I would have LOVED to have a place like this to shop when I was expecting my little. It's truly a stunning shop.

Her store goes beyond maternity wear – believe me, that's enough on it's own. And some of those outfits have a great transition into life after baby too (plus she's got you covered for swimwear and undergarments).! You can plan for all the little details from the nursery furniture and decor, books, snackware, accessories and even bath and body items. Definitely worth checking out if you live in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

🔷 What does a brand photo shoot look like?
Well, this is a small sample of the curated variety we can create for your business. Whether you sell products or services, there is a way to showcase the details of you and your business in a visual way.

🔷 What is the goal?
The goal is to finalize a gallery of images that you can pull from any day of the week to post on your social media, use in a print/digital ad, create a postcard, or add to your website.

🔷 Can I afford this?
Can you afford to hire a staff member for one extra hour each day? Most businesses will say, "Yes, that's actually not that expensive". Remember, I was a boutique owner and I KNOW what goes in to running a business with inventory and overhead. I know how those monthly costs add up. I can keep my rates affordable because I work efficiently so your time is not wasted.

🔷 How does this set me apart?
Whatever the marketing outlet... you need images to showcase your business and the uniqueness you bring. By creating your very own stock art gallery featuring YOU, we are already setting you apart from everyone else using canned images they purchase online. It showcases you, your space, your specific products, your staff and YOUR personality.

🔷 Where do I begin?
Simply drop a DM and I will visit with you about a FREE monthly trial. Let's create some content magic for your business!

Introducing...her.

I love accumulating new pieces for the studio. This one, as simple as she is, is simply divine. I'm in love. What a fresh and in vogue little chair. You can admire my plants too. I do daily.

Need updated brand shots? Or want to do a business video reel in this space? Drop a DM to get started.

I'm an artist. That is the best way to describe anything and everything I do. What is art? Creating with beauty in mind to evoke an emotion. Marketing is an art because it really has the same definition.

Humans love beautiful things and especially visual beautiful things. And we all have an innate sense of what is pleasing to the eye. Some just know how to capture it.

This was a shot that actually features just the necklace. But it's also important to "set the stage" for the jewelry. This lovely young lady's sun-kissed skin and blonde hair is a perfect backdrop to show the necklace in use. For me personally...I'm sort of in love with those freckles too. The entire composition is important.

That was a lot of talk around one image. But when I'm shooting -- I think fast. The goal when I work with my clients is to generate a large number of images with variety AND retain the beauty of a piece of art in each image (that makes it look like it took me much longer to set up).

Efficient. Beautiful. Functional. That's my goal. Do you have a product you need monthly content for? Or a special feature for a promo? Or maybe you need photos of you and your staff?

I'm a DM away to help. And I live for this.

Are you sincere? No really. Do you ever ask yourself this question as it relates to your business communications. Are you worrying about landing the next project, or are you sincerely taking time to communicate with your client.

If your client does not feel heard, you are getting nowhere. It's about a relationship. And yes, that takes some time. Does it mean a cut in profits? Maybe for the short term as you have to invest that time on a consistent basis. But in the long run, you are going a long way to gain and establish trust which from a profit-perspective can mean longer term contracts and more investment as you go.

Learn what makes your client feel insecure to learn how to make them flourish. Ask what they want out of their life and business instead of assuming. Take time to be present and consider their choice of words, so you can respond specifically to the details.

Save the AI for only two things in your inbox:
1) Welcome, here's a little about me, what I offer and a special offer to get started. Please connect with me if you have questions or need assistance with your business.

2) Thank you for your message, I'm out at the moment, but I will get back to you shortly.

Beyond that...it should be YOU with a unique response to the follow up. We need to relearn what it means to be authentic in a world where automation has become Queen.

And with that–– please drop me a DM if you want to work with someone who is authentically responsive and genuinely interested in helping your business grow and succeed.

As a long time graphic designer, I've spent many years creating color palettes for my clients and my own businesses. Right out of college, I ended up landing a corporate job where I was tasked with maintaining a brand.

Over time and with experience, I was trusted with assisting in creating brand guides and developing color palettes for everything from the company itself to product lines. This turned into educating my clients about the importance of creating consistent experiences through color.

When choosing color, think about all the potential applications in design: primary & secondary text, background, elements & components, supporting colors within the family. Also choose colors you can live with for an extended period of time (like, maybe forever), and understand that you can always expand upon your palette to include a secondary set (for example, with more supporting neutrals).

I like inspiration when I choose my colors. If a certain photo, or piece of art evokes a certain mood for me that matches my business messaging - then I will borrow from that. One of my favorite places for inspiration is classic art -– classic stands the test of time.

We will talk color theory now and again. It's one of my favorite subjects and can be very helpful in understanding the semantics of the color language.

Drop a DM if you are just getting started with your brand and need help in the design and brand development department. We'll create something magical!

These two though! What a team...I want to work there. This is the duo at –Rebecca & Shelby. This was a brand collaborative coordinated by my favorite team at .marketing.services

These ladies are extension specialists (among other amazing skills in the hair arena) and they have a personality that is unmatched. Probably one of the easiest photo sessions I've ever shot.

From smashing it with adorable frosted cookies, celebration candles, champagne and teaching the young 'un how to hold a candle like a cigarette from sexy Old Hollywood 😂 – we had a blast!

Are you looking to create your own set of branded photography to post on all your social media accounts as well as use for any other digital or print application? DM me to learn more about creating your own special set of images tailored to your business style, brand and color format.

I've got the years of experience behind me; the confidence in what I know to help you push forward; and a joy for capturing on my camera. Let's go!

If you just started a business. Welcome to the world of the crazy entrepreneur on social media! Those of us who have been in business for long enough to know are excited for you and the future of lessons you will uncover. We are also slightly shaking our heads, giggling (just a little), and praying you stay the course. It's a roller coaster, my friend.

And for those of you running your business – I can say with great confidence, you are tired of figuring out what to post, when to post, what to write, which hashtags, and WHERE TO FIND THE TIME! Because hey -- you are running your business -- like the actual things you need to do to make/sell products or produce your services. You are doing sales calls, entering inventory, managing staff and keeping the doors open.

Being out here is not on your radar. And the reason I know is because I watch some of your posts (and lack thereof). I'm not being mean, I'm being honest. You. Don't. Have. Time.

You compensate someone to clean your windows; and ship your packages; and deliver a floor mat every month for your door. You may even hire someone to clean your business each night and rum deliveries for you! Why would something like social media content creation and marketing be any different. Just creating content alone can save your life!

Do you like your time with family? Time at the lake on the weekends? Time to make supper at the end of your workday and buy groceries leisurely after work? Are you tired of the roller coaster being unpredictable and scary instead of fun and exhilarating?!

Drop me a DM. I offer a FREE trial on content creation and a FREE consult. You'll likely be energized to do something after our meeting, even if it's not me you decide to work with. I'll give you tips and tricks and will have you well on your way to reevaluating the social media scene.

With all the writing I do, I am bound to have a typo once in awhile. If you've ever caught one on my account -- you might do a double take and check back to find it's missing. And then you think you've lost your mind!

I'm just that quick to spot my mistake and fix it as soon as I see it. I was the top of my class in the English department. I didn't even realize it because reading, writing, grammar and spelling just come very easy to me. But that doesn't mean I don't make mistakes. Just like everyone else, I miss a key on the keyboard or just simply don't know how to spell something and guess hoping autocorrect will catch me when I fall.

Let me tell you, that doesn't happen all the time (and you know it too). It pays to slow down and read what you wrote. As I write this, I'm trying to follow my own advice. Because it can be the one thing that turns off your client and their account with you! Yikes!

Don't let that happen. It's really simply. Read what you wrote and even reading outloud to make sure it also makes sense keeps you looking like a pro!

Editorial photography is really all about storytelling. It is a synchronicity of the photographer, the model and the environment all coming together collaboratively in that moment to create an emotive visual story.

Are you trying to create a jovial emotion to showcase a casual product or service? Do you want serious and expensive looking?

In this case, we wanted to showcase the luxe satin texture of the dress and really incorporate the look into the beautiful environment...as if our model was part of the "architecture" of the furniture elements themselves. To create texture and movement, we had her ruffle the skirt and captured the emotive aspect in the second image by bringing in the book and closing in on her face as the focal point.

Pay attention to the details - all of them. Everything from your use of movement, the lighting, the choice of textures and elements -- they all play a role in communicating a story that your consumer wants to be a part of.

Help me help you, please.

We are all out here scrolling, working and engaging. If you are reading this, you might be a business owner who has to play the social media game. And it really is a game of sorts.

We are contemplating our best messages, creating our best photos and figuring out how the algorithm works so that our posts might be the most effective. Couple that with figuring out our audience and what THEY want from us. It's a lot in and of itself.

So what is your biggest challenge? Gripe? Wish? Need? As it concerns social media marketing. I'd like to do the work of figuring out how to overcome your challenges.

Did you know I do work in Grand Forks? I'm all about the story -- so I have to spill.

My folks moved to Grand Forks around the 2020 timeframe (which is actually closer to me than they have ever been). So now, it takes me 45 minutes to commute from my home just outside of Fargo to see them on a weekly basis. So I am in Grand Forks usually...once a week. And I love the change-up!

Meet the ladies at -- this was such a fun shoot! They have a love of color and a variety of fashion options. And every time I visit the shop, I see something new to make note of what we NEED to do to promote all the amazing brands they have available that haven't had their spot in the limelight yet.

Visiting their shop brings back memories. Mary, the owner will appreciate this one. Luscious is located in the old Radio Shack location in Columbia Mall. When I was about 6 years old, my family and I were shopping there over the holidays.

My brother (the adventurer) took off. We lost him (I think for two hours). We had mall security and everyone on alert looking for this little 5 year old kid. Uff.... I didn't help my mom's nerves 😂 Guess where we found him? Playing on the floor with the electric toy cars at Radio Shack! It wasn't funny then -- but it kind of is now 🤣 I can still see the scene.

And now it's this beautiful women's clothing boutique with a wide variety of options with an affinity toward dresses (Dress girl here 🙋🏻‍♀️). If you live in GF, stop by or be sure to follow them for their online offerings as well

I can spot it as soon as I see a photo. Someone did not clean their phone lens before taking that shot. And it could have been such a great photo -- makes me want to cry!

We don't realize how much oils on our hands and face get all over the surface our phone in only just a few hours. So if you take photos for your business, you need to pay attention to this one tip: CLEAN YOUR PHONE!

I carry a microfiber cloth with me at all times. One in my purse, one in my car and one in my office. Because I use my phone for creating content quite a bit, I can't afford to take a blurry photo or video.

I personally love the Norwex® brand Window Cloth -- but any microfiber cloth or eyeglass cloth would work. If you've never thought of this before, prepare to be amazed!

This lovely lady scheduled a brand session to take her business photos up a notch! I absolutely love photographing on black -- such a timeless, modern aesthetic (and she's somewhat of a natural).

Jessica is an Aesthetic Nurse Specialist for and like most specialists and injectors, she uses before/after photos to promote her work with the company. BUT, it's vital to show your face too -- it helps to build trust, especially with new clients.

It's important your clients see your face, your persona and your own personal brand as they choose who they are working with. A professional, brand photo session can go a long way to help build confidence with your clients when they are choosing something so important as trusting another individual with sculpting their face.

It's the first step in someone getting to know you. And honestly, if you are selling real estate, insurance, healthcare, hair, massage, cerologist, makeup artist, brow/lash specialist (along with many other service-based professions) - you NEED to have quality photos of YOU!

DM if you like the style and quality of my work, and we can discuss getting you in the studio or traveling on-site for your brand shoot. I also offer monthly contracts for regular content creation for your social media accounts.

Please go follow Jessica at .beauty.by.jessica
