Creative Guts

Creative Guts is a podcast focused on the pursuit of creativity. This interview-style podcast, founded by Laura Harper Lake and Sarah Wrightsman, will explore the roots of creativity, dive into the hearts of creators, and discover how creativity connects with the world around us.

Harper Lake and Wrightsman, both residents of NH’s seacoast region, began Creative Guts as a means of harnessing their love of connecting with fellow creatives and getting right into the guts it takes to be a creator.

Co-host Laura Harper Lake is a visual artist and creative, working as the Graphic Designer and Design Advisor for the Regional Economic Development Center by day, and moonlighting as a freelance artist, designer, and owner of Artful Harper Studios. “Everytime I speak with another creative person about their craft, process, struggles, and victories, I am inspired. Since I am surrounded by people pursuing their creative passions in many aspects of my life, having these conversations anyways, the next natural step felt like bringing these conversations to others. It is my hope that our listeners will be inspired by these stories as everyone has creativity within themselves, whether they know it yet or not!”

Wrightsman, while not an artist in the traditional sense, applies her creativity to local issues affecting New Hampshire residents. “Art adds value to our communities and to our economy,” said Wrightsman, “and my passion for arts and culture stems from my passion for community — creativity is a form of communication and creates space for connections to form.” A recent graduate of Leadership Seacoast, Wrightsman credits her inspiration, in part, to the program’s arts and culture day.
